Gratitude is one of the most powerful healing tools we have. 🍁✨
When we practice gratitude repeatedly, the brain forms stronger pathways associated with:
Positive thinking, Reward, and Emotional regulation. If you want to get really brainy 🧠🤓 with us, the actual key areas that are activated in the brain are: the Medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) – involved in emotional regulation and decision-making, Anterior cingulate cortex – integrates emotions and attention, and the Ventral tegmental area (VTA) & nucleus accumbens – our reward and motivation centers - and this contributes to neuroplasticity (what we really want for ourselves) and makes it easier over time for the brain to notice the good, not because we’re ignoring the hard stuff but because we are building alternative pathways.
As we gather this Thanksgiving week, may we pause to honor the small moments, the quiet progress, the people who hold space for us, and the ways we continue to grow.
