The proposed 2026 CMS Home Health Rule is here, and it’s raised serious concerns across our industry.

As a provider, a leader, and someone who has seen firsthand how home health changes lives, I’m deeply troubled by the direction this proposal is heading.

📉 6.4% reduction in the 30 day payment rate
❌ The removal of key Social Determinants of Health from OASIS
🧩 Uncertainty around how these changes will affect our most vulnerable patients.

While there are some positive developments, like broader face-to-face encounter rules and simplified HHCAHPS measures, we can’t overlook the long-term impact of reduced funding and weakened support structures for home-based care.

Home health isn’t just a convenience, it’s a critical, compassionate, and cost-effective solution for an aging population.

Now more than ever, our voices matter. Providers, families, clinicians, we all need to be heard before this rule becomes reality.
