I wanted to share something I’m really excited about and beginning to thoughtfully integrate into my work.
Much of the therapeutic process unfolds between sessions, and that in-between time can be just as meaningful as what happens in the therapy room. Practices meant to support reflection, regulation, or integration don’t always land easily, and many clients find traditional “homework” hard to sustain on their own.
I was recently introduced to Mindclay, an online therapeutic creative arts platform created by a company headquartered here in Santa Barbara, and I truly believe there’s something special here. Mindclay allows therapists to offer clients self-guided therapeutic art, music, movement, and writing practices that support the therapeutic process between sessions.
There are close to 40 thoughtfully designed exercises spanning mindfulness, benefit-finding, cognitive reframing, somatics, and multifaceted creative expression through poetry, art, music, and movement.
As a clinician, I appreciate that the platform allows for thoughtful continuity and structure, while still offering clients flexibility and creative choice. After seeing a Mindclay demonstration, I became genuinely excited to try the exercises myself and have loved what I’ve experienced so far.
For clients who are interested in more embodied, creative ways of engaging with therapy—especially between sessions—this may be a meaningful resource to explore together.
There are subscription options designed to be accessible across different needs and caseload sizes.
