The mission of the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse is building a safer, healthier community by preventing and treating alcoholism and drug abuse. CADA supports families, youth and adults through our prevention, education and public awareness programs in addition to providing treatment and referrals.

The CADA Mentor Program as part of their Summer Activities attended a Dodger's Baseball Game. The pictures tell the story. Although the Dodgers did not win, we all had a wonderful time including seeing a homerun by Shohei Ohtani. A big Thank you to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Trader Joes at De La Vina and Jersey Mikes on Turnpike!

The CADA Mentor Program enjoyed a beautiful Harbor Cruise on Celebration Cruises Azure Seas and delicious chocolate chip cookies and water donated by Trader Joe's. The mentors and mentees loved being out on the water; they saw fish, sea lions and pelicans. This Summer Activity would not be possible without a generous donation from Rebecca Buel of Celebration Cruises. The Mentor Program is in full Summer Activities mode!

The CADA Mentor Program enjoyed Circus Vargas at the Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara. Thank you to our generous donor Rolanda Kaiser Andrade, Circus Vargas, Community Outreach and PR Director, this would not have been possible without your support! The mentors and mentees loved it!

The CADA Mentor Program kicked off Summer break with an amazing day at Canzelle Farms in Carpinteria. The mentors and mentees were able to feed alpacas, llamas, goats and a water buffalo. They saw a peacock and several chickens roaming around too. This Summer Activity could not be possible without CADA Board Member Carol-Anne Lonson (Owner & Operator of Canzelle Farms) and lunchboxes provided by Jersey Mike's. The Mentor Program sincerely thanks Carol-Anne and Ranch Manager, Umberto, for the grand tour of 47 alpacas.
