Cottage Health’s Trauma Services and partner agencies’ car seat safety experts joined families at the Goleta Community Center for free car seat inspections—helping ensure every child rides safely.

Car safety experts are offering free inspections to ensure they are properly installed. Officials at Cottege Care say 80% of car seats are not installed properly.

It’s Pediatric Nurses Week, and our incredible team and pediatric patients enjoyed a special surprise visit from our in-house superhero, Spider-Man! 🕷️

This summer, Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital celebrated the 40th anniversary of Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp, a week of adapted sports, new friendships and unforgettable experiences.

For four decades, this one-of-a-kind program has empowered youth with physical disabilities to discover their abilities, build confidence, and connect through sport. We are proud to carry forward this legacy of possibility and inclusion on the Central Coast.

The camp is offered free of charge thanks to the generosity of the Foundation for Cottage Rehabilitation & Goleta Valley Cottage Hospitals and our community donors.

Dr. Daniel Crossman and Dr. Casey Whipple, family medicine providers, have joined Cottage Primary Care – Goleta. Dr. Crossman specializes in adult primary care, while Dr. Whipple provides care for patients of all ages—from newborns to adults.

Cottage Primary Care – Goleta is located at 334 S. Patterson Avenue, Suite 120 and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In the spirit of Santa Barbara’s Old Spanish Days Fiesta weekend, our pet therapy friends Leia and Sterling brought the celebration to Cottage Children’s Medical Center. Dressed for the occasion, they paraded the halls, lifting spirits and brightening the day for patients and staff. 🐾

Today is National Intern Day, and we are proud to recognize our 2025 summer intern cohort at Cottage Health.

Over the past several weeks, these college students have supported departments throughout our organization while exploring a range of healthcare careers. They have brought curiosity, professionalism and a strong commitment to learning.

Registration is now open for Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp (JWSC), July 21–25 at UCSB!

JWSC is designed for youth athletes and young adults, ages 6-21, with physical disabilities who use a wheelchair, or could use a wheelchair, to participate in sports.

Camp is FREE. Transportation to the camp site, UC Santa Barbara Recreation Center, will be available from Carpinteria, Goleta, Lompoc, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and Ventura/Oxnard areas, for those who need it.
