We highly encourage you to apply ASAP seeing that applications will be processed on a rolling basis. You will be contacted on a rolling basis as well. Our first review of applications will be end of week 5, May 1st.
The Human Rights Board prioritizes inclusive spaces and equitable practices, thus it is NOT mandated to have any prior experience to be qualified for a role within the board.
In order to participate as a board member and/or officer in Associated Students one needs to be currently enrolled in at least 6 units and also has at least a 2.0 GPA.
Our Mission Statement:
The University of California, Santa Barbara Human Rights Board serves as a forum centered on facilitating and amplifying the interaction of students groups – both within UCSB and our greater community. The Board recognizes their mission of inclusivity by creating a forum that encourages, advocates, and promotes respectful and honest communication regarding the education and awareness of basic human rights principles. This includes, but is not limited to issues of age, class, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, nationality, religion, race, size, s*x, and s*xuality. The main charge of the board is to promote open education and awareness through events, forums and educational campaigns.
