Hot take: Yoga alone isn’t enough anymore.
Two of the biggest predictors of longevity are:
- Strength
- VO₂ max (your body’s ability to use oxygen efficiently)
For most of my athletic life I only trained through swimming, biking, and running. That approach took me far. But when I trained to row across the Pacific Ocean and ultimately earned a world record crossing, the thing that changed my capacity the most was building a solid base through strength training. Now, as I move through pre-menopause, that realization matters even more.
Strength supports:
- bone density
- metabolism
- joint stability
- long-term resilience
So we’re evolving our Sculpt classes at Power of Your Om. Same fun energy. Same sweaty vibe. But now with smarter strength programming and intentional moments that challenge your VO₂ max. Because the goal isn’t just to leave class tired. It’s to leave stronger 💪🏽
