For the past sixty years, the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at UC Santa Barbara has been a resource for students, championing access, opportunity and holistic support. Our history is foundational at UC Santa Barbara, rich and pioneering in the creation of support services and a welcoming environment for undergraduate students.
From our Summer Bridge Programs (STEP & STTP), to our Peer Mentors (first of its kind at UCSB), to tutoring (CLAS came from EOP), Outreach (EAOP came out of EOP), cultural services and programming (the CRC’s) to our holistic counseling approach which recognizes that a student’s academic life is just one part of students’ overall success, EOP has and will continue to be there for our students.
This week, the Save Student Services initiative is on the ballot, which aims to bring the fees for several departments to today’s dollars so that we can continue to provide the services and programs we’ve been providing over the past decade plus and provides financial aid to cover the costs for high need students.
We are asking you to please VOTE YES on EOP during campus elections THIS week, April 20th-23rd. Your support will help ensure our legacy of supporting students will continue for years to come.
Thank you.
Aaron Jones
Director, EOP
