We are writing to share some difficult news – our dearest Charles passed away on Thursday after a courageous battle with cancer. Since his diagnosis in March, he received ongoing treatment and was surrounded by love – especially in his final months at the K&FT office, where he was uplifted by heartfelt messages from clients, staff, and community members.
We have been so lucky to have him in our lives and our office for so long and he will be truly missed. ❤️ If you'd like to read more on Charles and a letter from his mom, Rachel - our Clinical Programs Manager - please click this link:

Heidi and Ryan from PathPoint's Ventura County Residential Services had the pleasure of meeting Shannon Celia. Shannon is a local contemporary watercolorist who painted the fiberglass bunny pictured here as part of the "Conejo Cottontails" public art project. Heidi and Ryan pass by this wonderful rabbit every week on their walk and it was so much fun to meet the artist! Shannon was making cosmetic touchups to her project. Currently, there are over 20 Cottontails on display throughout the city.

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) celebrated 35 years! This act highlights disability culture, history, and community pride.

35 years ago today the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed by President George H.W. Bush. It was a landmark victory thanks to the incredible advocacy work of people with disabilities who risked it all to demand access, autonomy, and civil rights. These rights were hard fought for and long overdue. Even more, it was only the beginning, the ADA is a minimum standard that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. Now in 2025, we continue to demand more.

It is massively important to celebrate big victories such as the ADA and it should also serve as a reminder of what can be accomplished when action is focused and united. We are still here and there is still much in our world that can be solved to better include people with disabilities in the workplace, public spaces, housing, healthcare, community, and more.

Let's learn, remember our history, and continue moving forward with the momentum provided by those before us!
