Our Story
Muller Aquatic Center is an indoor, 91-degree pool offering aquatic physical therapy, water fitness classes, aquatic personal training, and open pool hours for the community. Our aquatic programs reduce weight bearing stress while incorporating resistance and relaxation in the warmth of our generously heated pool.
Muller Aquatic Center is conveniently located in the Funk Zone, best accessed from the Garden Street exit off the 101. We do not have our own private parking lot. Street parking may be available; otherwise, our building is accessible from the back via the nearby Garden St. public lot (Garden & Cabrillo). Muller Aquatic Center features handicap-accessible showers & restrooms as well as individual changing areas. A lift chair is available for individuals who are unable to access the pool using stairs. Our aquatic therapy program is led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in aquatic therapy & has over 10 years of experience in the field. The pool is an ideal environment for physical therapy because buoyancy greatly reduces body mass & joint forces while providing support & ease of movement. The thermal effects of immersion in warm water may assist with pain relief & relaxation while reducing depression & anxiety. After completing an evaluation in the Muller & Weber clinic on Bath Street, patients receive individualized aquatic therapy programs based on their diagnosis, goals, and current functional limitations. No swimming skills are necessary. A therapy program may include:
