My career path has been varied. I started as a publicist — then worked as a freelance journalist for over a decade. Both these careers were about my love of people. I had a burning desire to understand what made people expand and retract, struggle or thrive. I’ve interviewed hundreds of fascinating people throughout my professional life.
I specialize in a s*x and gender. That translates to s*x therapy (both for individuals and couples), s*x addiction/compulsion (issues with p**n, infidelity, prostitution) and LGBT. With these specialties, I have an interesting mix of clients. The transgender clients and those struggling with p**n tend to be young adults, however the rest of my clients are typically 30-65 years old. Those struggling with compulsivity tend to be male (not always), while those struggling with s*xual satisfaction tend to be female.
Recently, my practice has expanded to those looking for more s*xual satisfaction and who are also recovering from childhood s*xual abuse. I am a Certified S*x Addiction Therapist (CSAT), trained in EMDR (trauma protocol) and work in a variety of modalities—depending on the presenting issue and the disposition of the client. Currently I’m working on a PhD in Clinical S*xology. I also teach Intimate Relationships (couples work) at Antioch University Santa Barbara.
