Sweet times with dear friends Joss and Willow after leading kirtan at Yoga Soup last night. Life is a wild & crazy ride. But chanting mantras and singing the names of God helps me stay a little higher through all of it. And when I lose my balance, I just keep singing.

I sing because it calms my monkey mind. I sing because it is the quickest way for me to travel from my head to my heart. I sing because it activates my inner joy. I sing because I love God and need to praise him. And in times of darkness when the heart is heavy with grief or sadness, singing helps to me to move those energies so I can experience inner freedom again. There are so many different forms of spiritual practice we can engage in.
