Are you tired of feeling tired after a full nights sleep?

So many women think it’s just park of getting older, stress, or hormones. But there is often something deeper going on.

How you breathe, where your tongue rests, and how your oral muscles function can all affect the quality of your sleep. When your airway isn’t supported properly, your body works harder all night long.

The goal isn’t more sleep. It’s better sleep.

What is Myofunctional Therapy?

Myofunctional therapy is a program of exercises that retrains the muscles of the tongue, lips, and face so they work the way they were designed to.

The goals are to help you:
• Breathe through your nose
• Keep your lips sealed at rest
• Rest your tongue on the roof of the mouth
• Develop a healthy swallowing pattern

When these patterns improve, people often notice better sleep, breathing, jaw development, and overall function.

Your muscles control your habits.
Myo helps retrain them.

Not all expansion is the same.

Some kids only need upper. Some need both upper and lower, and the speed of expansion can make a big difference too.

But here’s the part that gets missed. If the tongue posture, breathing and oral habits don’t change, the expansion may not hold.

Did your orthodontist recommend myo with expansion?

Most people think facial attractiveness is just genetics.

But development plays a huge role.

Things that influence facial structure:
• nasal breathing
• tongue posture
• lip seal

Your face grows around how you breathe and use your mouth.

Nasal breathing helps with oxygen use, endurance and facial development.

Most people don’t realize how much chewing patterns matter.

If you always chew on one side, that side of your jaw muscles gets more load and pressure, while the other side gets less stimulation. Over time, that imbalance can affect muscle development and how your jaw functions.

And it doesn’t take hours.

Your jaw can experience significant force in as little as ~10 minutes of chewing, especially with tougher foods. Repeating that pressure on the same side day after day can reinforce uneven muscle patterns.

It’s important to make sure the tongue and body is prepared for release. It is a surgery after all! You wouldn’t get knee surgery without pt would you??

Can you blow up a balloon using just your breath, tongue and lips? No hands! 🙌

This fun exercise targets diaphragmatic breathing, tongue control and lip seal.

Braces just fix the damage. Training the muscles will keep them there better than a retainer ever will.

The back of your tongue should be gently lifted, helping hold your airway open — especially at night.

When it’s low or weak, the airway narrows… and the body compensates.

Snoring. Mouth breathing. Clenching. Grinding. Poor sleep.

This isn’t random — it’s muscle function, or rather dysfunction.
