“I feel like I’m allergic to my own life.” These symptoms are some of the most commonly missed and misdiagnosed symptoms for women in perimenopause. They suddenly can’t drink wine, can’t eat cheese, and wake up with congestion or facial swelling. 🤧 They are usually told to “take a Zyrtec.” But antihistamines don’t fix the fact that your hormones are shifting.

If you are in and you feel like you’re suddenly allergic to everything... YOU’RE NOT CRAZY! This is exactly what’s happening:

👉🏻 Estrogen increases mast cell activation & stimulates histamine release.
👉🏻 Histamine then stimulates the ovaries to produce more estrogen.
👉🏻 When our hormone levels are normal, progesterone can usually counteract this feedback loop & balance things out.
👉🏻But this becomes an issue when progesterone levels begin to decline during perimenopause, leaving estrogen & histamine stuck in a never ending feedback loop that can leave you feeling extremely symptomatic. 🤧

✨Histamine Hacks✨

✅ DAO Enzymes for histamine metabolism (take before meals)
✅ Quercetin for natural mast cell stabilization.
✅ Charcoal binder to help remove histamine
✅ Stinging nettle (natural antihistamine)
✅ Second generation antihistamines such as Zyrtec/Claritin

If you are experiencing symptoms like this, this is your sign that it’s time to work with a hormone specialist that understands these symptoms and how to optimize your levels so you can get back to living your life! 🙏🏼

I am currently accepting new telehealth patients in CA, NV & WI. I would absolutely love to work with you to help get these perimenopause symptoms under control. Link in bio to book a free consultation!

Why does the FDA approve 30+ testosterone products for men but zero for women—despite excellent safety and effectiveness data? 🤔

The research is clear: testosterone therapy helps postmenopausal women with low sexual desire, improves wellbeing, and is safe when properly dosed. Yet regulatory barriers persist, leaving millions of women without access to evidence-based treatment.

This isn’t about promoting products. It’s about understanding why medical research and drug approval processes have historically underserved women’s health needs.

The path forward requires:
✓ More women-focused research funding
✓ Standardized treatment guidelines

✓ FDA-approved formulations designed for women
✓ Insurance coverage for evidence-based therapies

When we hear “testosterone,” we often think of the gym, aggression, or men’s health. But the biological reality is that testosterone is the most abundant biologically active steroid hormone in the female body.

In fact, it circulates in concentrations significantly higher than estradiol.

Yes, women need testosterone too. It’s not about masculinization—it’s about optimal health. Research shows that when properly prescribed, testosterone therapy can transform quality of life for women experiencing symptoms of declining hormone levels.
The science is clear: ✓ Improves sexual desire and satisfaction ✓ Safe profile with proper medical supervision

It also likely contributes to: ✓ Increases energy and vitality ✓ Supports bone health ✓ Helps maintain lean muscle mass ✓ Improves body composition and metabolism

Yet many women suffer in silence, told their symptoms are “just aging” or “normal.” The data shows otherwise.

Knowledge is body literacy. Let’s normalize talking about the full spectrum of hormones.

If you are a nerd (like me), DM me for a copy of the Parish et al article below so you can read about the physiology yourself.

Before you commit to a lifetime of injections, read this. 🛑💉

When men hear “Low T,” they usually think the only solution is Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT).

And while TRT is effective, it comes with a heavy price tag: Shutdown.

When you inject testosterone, your brain tells your testicles to stop working. This leads to testicular shrinkage (atrophy) and often wipes out your fertility, and ability to ever make normal amounts of testosterone again. They are stuck with injections forever. For many men, that’s a trade-off they aren’t ready to make.

But there is another way.

It’s called Enclomiphene.

Instead of replacing your hormones, Enclomiphene restarts them. It blocks specific sensors in the brain, tricking your body into thinking levels are low. Your brain responds by shouting at the testicles to get back to work. 📣⚙️

The result? ✅ You produce your own testosterone. ✅ You maintain your fertility. ✅ You avoid testicular shrinkage. ✅ No needles required.

I love using enclomiphene in my practice because we don’t just patch the problem; we try to fix the machinery first. Many men are even able to stop therapy once they’ve optimized their metabolism.

Comment or DM with questions.
