I once had a loyal patient who was a missionary. He always came in for physical therapy and supplements. He said, "I want to still be a missionary in my 90s, saving souls and helping people." Living with chronic pain for years led me on a journey of finding the best ways to give my body relief, both physically and mentally. And emotionally! Living with chronic pain can do a number on you. So, if you’re suffering with it, just know there’s someone who understands!

On my journey of finding the best ways to help my body with pain (and friends and family as well), here are some of the best natural remedies I’ve found:

Turmeric:
This is nature’s anti-inflammatory! What I find this works best for from personal experience, and with friends, family, and followers who have shared their testimonials, is joint and back pain. But the quality of the turmeric does matter, as does bioavailability. My two favorite ones are turmeric drops by the Berry Good Elixir Co and a product called Optimize from Tranont.

Castor oil packs:
Castor oil is amazing for so many things, including the skin, but it’s great for joint and back pain relief, as well! Just make a castor oil pack (I have a post that gives a how-to) and be consistent with using it. Many see relief in as little as five to seven days. What makes it so effective is the oil’s ability to pe*****te down deep into the tissues and increase circulation to the site. It’s also what makes it so great for the liver and thyroid!

Oil of oregano:
This is another great topical pain reliever that studies have shown to be as effective as morphine! You just dilute a couple of drops into a carrier oil (like castor oil) and rub it over the site of pain. This one is also great for joints!

Ghost Pipe:
Ghost Pipe has been used forever as a pain reliever, but a little goes a long way. Check out my Reel on Ghost Pipe, how to forage, make a tincture from it, and the best way to take it! Also, if you don’t want to forage it and make it yourself, Berry Good Elixir Company has a great tincture.
