Edijou Woodmaster

Edijou Woodmaster Albert Edijou (pronunciation: edi-jo) an ethnic Assyrian, was born on February 19, 1957, in Tehran, Iran. Albert is also multi-lingual.

He is a Master Carpenter, carver, painter, linguist, mathematician, designer, master drafter and a geo-metric genius with an imagination beyond belief. After graduating high school in 1974, Albert attended The Art Academy of Esfahan, Iran and graduated in 1976. He is fluent in Assyrian (Neo Aramaic/Modern Akkadian), Classical Aramaic-Syriac, Armenian, Farsi, Turkish, Azerbaijani Turkish, German, English and Hindi. Albert is very educated in Art, History of Arts, World History, Linguistics, extreme knowledge of Eastern and Western culture, Engineering, Architectural Designs, Interior Designs, General Building and Construction, Drafting, Theology and has extreme knowledge of the Old and New Testaments. Living in Iran, Albert worked in many different fields. Some of the positions he held were, Superintendent in Technical Buildings of Oil Refinery at Fluor-Thyssen Joint Venture Oil Company, Supervisor for Technical Building at Jones Bell Helicopter International in Esfahan, Iran, General Foreman at Polyacril Company, Site Superintendent of Oil Pump stations from the Esfahan to Kerman Project at IRA-SPIE-CAPAG and as a General Construction Supervisor in the project of the Flight department at JHP Construction Company. In each of these positions, Albert succeeded and became promoted very quickly. He also was a member of the Association of Carpenters and Furniture Manufacturers of the City of Esfahan and surrounding areas in 1980. He was very knowledgeable and always a much respected person. Yet, Albert always had a passion for art, which bloomed at a very young age. Albert met his wife and soul mate and married Dina in 1978. Following the revolution in Iran, the laying off of Christians working in different companies all around the country, the creation of an Islamic Regime, the war between Iran and Iraq, and due to the country’s unemployment crisis and economy, Albert turned to his drive in wood and art. He then opened up his first woodworking business, Sharon Furniture (named after his first born) in 1979. Albert was designing and building kitchen cabinets, designing and construction of wooden furnishings for boutiques, designing and construction of wooden furnishings for medical practices, designing and construction of one-story wooden houses and furnishings made of wood, tables, chairs, desks, book cases, church interiors, libraries and built anything his imagination would deliver. His business was steady, had many customers, became a known woodworker and artisan, and was classified as first-class by certification of the Association of Carpenters and Furniture Manufacturers of the City of Esfahan and surrounding areas. After losing everything in their country of birth, a new chapter began in 1987 when Albert, Dina, their two children and Albert’s mother moved to Germany fleeing the country’s hardships, the war between Iran/Iraq and the torturing and burning of his shop by Islamic extremists. Within a year upon arriving, Albert became business partners with two fellow co-workers while working together at a job site. He created all types of fine art and woodwork and started attracting German media, newspapers and the Museums of Arts. After a year of working with his business partners, in 1990 Albert went off on his separate way and started up Edijou Exklusiv-Möbel Gmbh (Edijou Exclusive Furniture LLC). Albert began working on many different projects for many clienteles. Some of these projects were high-end staircases, designing and building kitchen cabinets, desks, bars, tables, chairs, interior remodeling, roof installations, cantilevered construction, beam supported construction, entertainment centers, high-end fine inlay tables, and all types of furniture in all different styles. Some of the styles Albert was using in his furniture creations were Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Biedemeier, Chippendale, Federal, Queen Anne, Le Corbusier, Macintosh, and New Geometry. He once again, became a well-known and respected carpenter and artist. The Museums of Art and Arts & Crafts galleries in Germany mentioned that with their collaboration with Mr. Edijou, they certified that Albert possesses a comprehensive talent, which he displayed in virtually every artistic endeavor. Also, with an inexhaustible wealth of ideas, he designed furniture, house products and accessories, always with the strictest sense of artistic unity and coherence. His exclusive works of art have as a goal, to preserve valuable historical furniture styles. They had the honor to recommend Mr. Albert Edijou as a very fine and exclusive artist in the wood products manufacturing industry. German media and newspapers were attracted from all over Germany due to Albert’s artistic excellence and creativity, and became famous and accepted by everybody in a short period of time. Art objects and projects designed and produced by Mr. Edijou were considered excellent and exclusive by newspapers such as Ruhr-Nachrichten, Stadtspiegel and West-allgemeine Zeitung. According to antique specialists who at the time had seen his work, mentioned there has seldom been such a high level of quality and creativity in Germany. They also had the honor of recommending this fine artisan as an exclusive artist of the antique and furniture trades. Albert Edijou’s skills and abilities at creating very fine and exclusive wood pieces and art objects are extraordinarily astonishing. These have all been documented with many photographs. His creations which are a combination of eastern methods and western traditions are so perfect that they are extremely exclusive and outstanding. His knowledge of the woodworking industry and his ability to create inlay work in which he uses exclusive patterns; make his work unprecedented and unique in the woodworking industry. He provides an unusual artistic skill for exclusive woodwork. He also possesses the flamboyant ability and the style of creating new wood-works. Everything is done in absolute perfection. Hundreds of professors and professional designers visited his creations in the exhibition in Germany and admired them very much. Although Albert was very successful in Germany, he wanted fulfill another dream he had since childhood, and due to his employments with American Companies in Iran, was to immigrate to the United States. Albert began a new life with his family in Los Angeles, CA in 1995. When arriving in the U.S., within a short period of time he re-opened his business as Edijou Woodmaster. Once again, he amazed people with his art and wood work. As an artist, Albert felt unrestricted in the United States to create whatever was in his heart and mind, and things he was not able to create in Iran or Germany. He designed and custom built numerous high end art and woodwork such as, Kitchens, Bars, Entertainment centers, Libraries, Tables, Chairs, Desks, Fireplace Mantels, Medical Offices, Staircases, Cabinets, Interior Remodels, China Cabinets, and very high-end exotic inlay tables. Everything in his work has symbols, meanings, art, love, style, and is built to absolute PERFECTION! Still today, Albert Edijou is continuing to do what he loves, art and wood. He is truly an amazing, humble, and honest individual, and a family man with a beautiful heart and an unbelievable God given talent.
