Happy International Dance Day
Okay. We see you.
You know you need to drink more water. You've been told a thousand times. You've filled the bottle, set the reminders, tried the apps. And somehow you still end up at the end of the day having had almost nothing.
This post is for you. The person who finds plain water genuinely unappealing and doesn't need yet another lecture about eight glasses a day.
**Here are 5 strategies that actually work for people who struggle with water:**
**1. Temperature matters more than you think.**
Most people have a strong preference for ice, cold or room temperature and drinking the "wrong" temperature makes water feel unpleasant. Experiment deliberately. Cold water with citrus? Warm water with lemon? Find your version and build around it.
**2. Use a straw.**
Sounds ridiculous. Works surprisingly well. People consistently drink more through a straw than directly from a glass. The action is more continuous, more automatic, and somehow more satisfying. Get a good reusable one and use it daily.
**3. Eat your water.**
Cucumber, watermelon, strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes, celery, and oranges are all over 85% water. A diet rich in hydrating foods meaningfully contributes to daily intake without requiring you to drink a single extra glass.
**4. Tie it to a habit you already have.**
Before every meal. After every bathroom visit. Every time you sit down at your desk. Anchor water to an existing habit and it becomes automatic — not intentional effort.
**5. Upgrade your water.**
Sometimes the issue isn't willpower. It's that your water genuinely doesn't taste good. Chlorine, mineral imbalance, and subtle contamination all make water unpleasant. Clean, filtered water from a system like the AlkaWay Ultra Stream ($1,499) or Alka75 ($4,995) tastes completely different. For many people, it's the first time they actually enjoy drinking water.
Happy International Dance Day 💃 stay hydrated while you move!
