🎊🎉Today is the day - my 20th anniversary as a massage therapy practitioner!🥳🪅

Every day that I get to do this powerful work I love, I am so grateful. I thank my many teachers and the clients who have allowed me to be part of their healing journeys!

One of the best moments I've had lately, at an outcall session in the mountains...

"There was a deer rubbing its antlers on the side of the house. I was a little surprised you didn't seem to hear that."

"Nope. Too blissed out. 😊"

I had somebody too blissed out to hear that racket...in the midst of all that's going on for all of us...what a pleasure and privilege to be able to usher in that kind of ease!

🎃👻 Halloween may make skeletons seem spooky, but they’re actually full of fascinating surprises! 🦴✨

As a massage therapist, I LOVE sharing information about our bodies, and the beautiful ways they sustain us every day.

Here are my top five surprising facts about our skeletons:

1. Babies Have More Bones Than Adults: Babies are born with about 270 bones, but as they grow, some of these bones fuse together, leaving adults with 206 bones.
2. Your Skeleton Renews Itself: Approximately every 5-10 years, your skeleton completely regenerates itself via a process called "remodeling." So, you’re always walking around with a “new” skeleton!
3. The Smallest Bone is in Your Ear: The stapes, a tiny bone in the middle ear, is the smallest bone in the human body. It’s just about the size of a grain of rice!
4. Bones Are Full of Life: Our bones are very tough and resilient, but they aren’t lifeless like stones. They contain marrow, which produces red and white blood cells, playing a crucial role in your body’s immune system.
5. You Have More Than One Type of Bone: Your body has different types of bones, including long bones (like your femur), short bones (like those in your wrist), flat bones (like your skull), and irregular bones (like your vertebrae).

So, next time you see a skeleton decoration, remember how amazing and resilient our bones truly are! 🦴💪

And if your hard-working body is feeling more scary than amazing, it might be time to soothe some troubles away with a massage therapy session. I draw on Hawaiian lomilomi, Esalen massage, and craniosacral therapy in my practice - something for every body and soul! I have some great promotions in the works for the holidays, too, so contact me to schedule or for more details!

Hey, athletes! As the weather cools down in the coming weeks, it's important to remember: we *are* nature! The change of seasons is a shared event for our bodies and the earth. Here are some reminders to help your workout routine go the distance, long past the end of summer.

Autumn Workout Tips

1. Warm Up and Cool Down: Always start with a good warm-up to get your muscles ready, especially on days when the air is more likely to make you shiver than sweat. After your workout, cool down to help your body relax and recover...even if you think the nip in the air should be enough to do that for you!
2. Dress in Layers: The weather can be tricky. Wear layers so you can adjust as it gets warmer or cooler during your activities. Staying more comfortable when you're working out may also help your motivation to get up and do it again tomorrow.
3. Stay Hydrated: Even though it’s cooler, you still need to drink plenty of water. Hydration keeps your muscles happy and healthy.
4. Eat Right: Fuel your body with healthy foods like fruits, veggies, and proteins. Good nutrition helps you perform your best at any time of the year. Some people find it beneficial to eat more of the foods that are naturally in season, and there are certainly plenty to choose from after summer.
5. Listen to Your Body: If something hurts, take a break. It’s better to rest than to risk an injury.

And don’t forget, massage therapy is great for athletes, especially in the fall! It helps with muscle recovery, reduces soreness, and keeps you feeling your best. 🍁

Have questions? Want to book a session? Text or call today at 831-359-4753, or email lanakila@cruzmassage.com.

Let's keep those muscles in top shape all season long! 💪

🌟 Exploring the Human Body's Marvelous Systems 🌟

The human body is an incredible machine with various systems that keep us functioning optimally. Here's a quick overview:

4. Respiratory System: Manages oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange.
5. Circulatory System: Transports oxygen, nutrients, and removes waste.
