This is Brandon, a Certified Massage Therapist and Myofascial Release Practitioner. He provides a safe space conducive for the mind and body to prepare for healing, approaching each session without an agenda. He believes that there is no, “one sequence fits all,” and strives to listen to what the body is telling him it needs. Without an agenda in mind, he does follow a few steps prior to providing treatment. He’ll assess tissue pliability by utilizing soft tissue mobilization techniques such as friction, pressing and kneading, and/or lifting and dragging of the skin, for example. This initial assessment allows him to feel inconsistencies in tissue and helps him develop a strategy for the remaining treatment. He’ll then begin to utilize Myofascial release techniques that will rehydrate tacky/dehydrated fascia and musculature in order to encourage proper fluidity of movement, reduction of pain, and increased recovery time from injury. It is normal for the recipient to feel moments of slight discomfort from some techniques as the body responds to the stimulus, yet will adjust his technique to a tolerable yet still effective level of comfort for each client. Some of the treatments may feel subtle, slow, elongating, relaxing, and may be accompanied with cranial holds; which brings upon an overwhelming sense of relaxation and well-being while re-establishing good communication between the mind and body to occur.
