Your tongue and your body have different agendas, who wins?

Winter is coming to a close...and so is the winter diet. ��I know it's yummy and most people will still be eating the winter diet long after the equinox but...��It doesn't mean it's what our body wants.

The tongue, yes. The body, no.

If our body wanted heavy winter food in the springtime, we wouldn't struggle with mucuousy colds, coughs, asthma, spring allergies or issues of stagnation like swollen b***s, puffy eyes and low energy.��Tomorrow (Friday 3/10) I’m giving a free talk on Spring Cleansing at 12 PM PT.

Cora loves Nori seaweed but not when it gets soft so we end up with MANY leftover bags of soft nori 😆

Today we tossed them in the blender and made a homemade Gomasio seasoning. We roasted a small pan of sesame seeds, combined them in a bowl with the seaweed sprinkles and some sea salt.

Soooo yummy sprinkled on salad, rice, quinoa, veggies, popcorn, eggs, chicken or fish.

You caaaaan just buy it at the store but it’s way more fun and satisfying to make at home.

Lunch today looks fancy and involved but isn’t at all. I threw it together in about 10 min or less because most of it was made ahead.

This morning I cooked the pasta, chickpeas in the instant pot, kale salad I prepped/bagged a few days ago, steamed broccoli leftover from last night’s dinner. The chimichurri/pesto I made over the weekend. I’ll turn the extra chickpeas into a hummus for dinner tonight to make simple raw collard wraps(for me) nori (for Cora) with chopped carrots, shredded beets and avo. The hummus will take me ten minutes while Cora chops/ shreds the veg. She’ll throw the extra pasta into her nori wraps too 👍 Quick & easy

Leftovers older than a few days lose their nutrients and are harder on digestion. You can get around that by cooking your veggies and proteins fresh but doing prep work ahead-things like spreads and dressings, prepping extra greens and salad mixes so they are quick and easy to grab.

I prefer spreading my prep out here and there and some people will prefer to do it less often in larger time blocks.
