Happy Lunar New Year!

Chinese New Year typically falls on the second new moon after the Winter Solstice. What is the Yin Wood Snake you say?

YIN - Represents the capacity for renewal from places that are veiled. The Yin is forever the hidden Source of what may come.

WOOD - Wood is groundbreaking. It gives new energy for life, erupting from the roots into vision and new growth.

SNAKE - A medicinal being that summons alertness. Snake keeps her soft belly resonating with the Earth, listening through the body.

Thank you, Yin Wood Snake for showing us universally how important it is to shed layers; the tired habit energy, the useful old ways of hiding that are no longer needed. If something has been lingering on the surface, that’s ready to go, this is the year for it to be replaced.

It's time for us to unveil a bit more, the hidden core, so that we can be seen for what we truly are inside.

My-My-My-My Corona!

The Moon steps out onto the cosmic dance floor, perfectly eclipsing the Sun's light. This eclipse then gives us a unique perspective & could be called the Sun's Corona Persona - Right!?

According to thought leader Rupert Sheldrake, celestial bodies might be conscious. Through morphic resonance, he explains how dogs know when their people are coming home, how Chinese medicine works, and how the Sun may be conscious...

So, could the Seasons be able to answer our deepest questions about life? Yes, that's what we found at the last Tao Quest. Check out our next event at taoquests.com/events!

Happy Lunar New Year! Green Yang Wood Dragon energy...

GREEN: Verdant green is a sign of fertility and change, the emergent energies of Spring.

YANG: This period is marked by a strong sense of Yang Qi, which brings with it vitality and the opportunity to broaden your perspectives. It’s an ideal time to start new projects and think BIG.

WOOD: The wood element is all about growth and spreading out Qi. So exercising, embracing change, and following your passions are important. But it’s also important to keep an eye on your emotional well-being and look after your liver and gallbladder health (an inner dragon in TCM)

DRAGON: The dragon stands for connection, transformation, liberation, and the natural flow of life. It pushes us towards making wise decisions for our future and comes with the potential for significant choices.

The Green Yang Wood Dragon encourages you to be bold and step out of your comfort zone while being honorable and remaining grounded in wisdom.

Pursue your dreams with creativity and passion.

What will you transform with vigor and honor this year?

The Kidneys & Winter Health

In the three months of Winter,
The Yang goes within,
As Water opens into the great aquifers for storage.

Do not work to fatigue.
Go to rest earlier.
Wake later in the day.

Think of oneself & store your essence.
Keep it as a happy secret!

Avoid the cold and stay warm.
Do not sweat as if it were Summer!

This corresponds to the Qi of Winter.
Opposing this injures the kidneys,
Leading to the lack of vitality in Spring.

Looking Back - A Winter Solstice Ritual

In the first days of Winter take time to sit in silence looking back upon the year. Feel into your lower belly, the region of the Water element in the body.

Inside this region is a fire in the belly, known as the Lower Dantien. Specifically, it exists in the space between the navel and p***c bone. This is the location of the Ming Men, known as the Fire Gate according to Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Review the year and notice the wisdom of Autumn within you, then ask deeply and intuitively...WHAT NEEDS TO COME TO REST?

May this inner knowing be the Yule log that you place upon this Fire Gate. Let Autumn's order come to rest here in your inner ritual space in deep time.

This is the rebirth of the potential for the True Yang, the light that emerges from the darkness such as how the universe was born.

Gratitude Through the Seasons

Consider how there are four seasons
and also four chambers of your heart.

As a contemplative prayer:
Journey back through the seasons this past year.
Take some time to contemplate,
Harvesting in each chamber,
Whether delightful or difficult,
How this past year shaped your great Heart.
