When can visitors return to Assisted Livings?

Paradise Villa Assisted Living and Memory Care has a new
updated visitation policy. The new federal guidance recommends that facilities allow some physical contact between residents and loved ones, such as hugging and holding hands, if the resident has been fully vaccinated and the visitor is masked. Visitors should remain at least 6 feet from other residents and staff. When together, couples thrive better and benefit from the support from each other. We have had many couples at Paradise Villa Assisted Living, and we have had great success with keeping couples together.

We would like to share with you in our series on couples, five great stories of happy loving couples who we were able to stay together in the community and you’ll see why we love to keep couples together.

Dustin and Jane* (names changed to protect privacy) who were married for almost 70 years were a resident couple we were able to keep together. Jane was quite an active spitfire and still had plenty of energy to “the boss” as Dustin referred to her with a smile. Dustin was the more quiet, stoic one in the relationship. Dustin needed help to care for himself. As much sharp mental energy and love and desire as Jane had for Dustin, she was not able to provide the physical care needs and homecare became too expensive. Jane refused to stay at home without her soul mate….read the full story here: https://paradisevillaassistedliving.com/assisted-living-and-elderly-couples/

At Paradise Villa we understand the importance of helping our seniors stay engaged and avoiding isolation.

We have proper Covid prevention protocols in place so our community residents can still get together. Check out the pictures from this recent activity making visors.

Loneliness and social isolation have been linked to poor health outcomes and the prevalence of isolation among seniors who live at home may be as high as 43%.

Social isolation has been demonstrated to lead to numerous detrimental health effects in older adults, including: An increased number of falls, dementia and for re-hospitalization.

Avoid social isolation. Come, virtual tour with us today and find the right place for your loved one.

Please watch and see how we are and remain Covid Free

07/15/2020

We want to assure our prospective residents, their families, and our community partners that Paradise Villa is committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our residents

Our community has remained covid free during this pandemic

We ensure that we conduct temperature checks on all essential visitors that visit our community, including our staff on a routine basis

Paradise Villa staff who enter the community change their clothes' and clean their shoes upon entering the premises

Several times a day, our staff conducts a thorough disinfecting process according to the CDC and state guidelines

at night, while the residents are sleeping our staff conducts a deep clean.

All high touch surfaces and high traffic area are cleaned and disinfected multiple times per day

Personal Protective Equipment such as masks and gloves are provided for all staff and all residents that need to go to essential Dr’s appointments

Our staff answers the door with masks on and wipes down all packages that come in and all packages that go to the residents sit in a holding area for at least 24 hours after the disinfecting process

Paradise Villa also requests covid testing for all new resident's and all current residents returning to us from a hospitalization stay and or rehab stay.

And while Paradise Villa has remained 100% Covid Free: we have provided training to our staff on the proper protocol for covid positive persons and the need to isolate them in one area and where that would be located in the building.

In the event of any disruption in supply line we have made sure we have enough food, water and medical supplies for each resident and have extra cleaning supplies and Personal Protective equipment such as masks and gloves available for all staff and residents.

In order to prevent potential introduction of covid we are currently only allowing visits thru the windows and no contact for anyone that is not an essential staff member.

We know the news is scary, especially for more at risk populations such as our seniors, and that while we must all take many precautions, we want to encourage you to not allow covid to prevent you or your loved one from receiving the care you need in a, assisted living community such as paradise villa that is equipped to handle this pandemic.

A friendly reminder we are conducting virtual tours and zoom meetings with potential residents and their families.
