✨STAFF SPOTLIGHT✨
My name is Briana Flores and I’m beginning my clinical fellowship as a speech-language pathologist. I am a Mexican-American, born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico who’s bilingual in English and Spanish.
My passion for speech-language pathology began during a two-year internship at Christus St. Vincent Hospital in high school, where I shadowed a variety of professions and specialties. After being introduced to the field, my interest continued to grow throughout my undergraduate studies and ultimately inspired me to pursue my master’s degree.
I enjoy working with individuals of all ages and with diverse communication needs, including articulation, expressive and receptive language, stuttering, multilingualism, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), swallowing/feeding, cognition, pragmatics, and voice.
I use evidence-based, holistic approaches that emphasize patient-centered, tailored goals and treatment. My therapy style is neurodivergent-friendly, engaging, motivating, and meaningful.
My education is as follows:
● Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (2025)
○ University of New Mexico (UNM)
● Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders; Minor in Linguistics (2023)
○ New Mexico State University (NMSU)
● Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language – Spanish; Minor in Psychology (2023)
○ New Mexico State University (NMSU)
● Distinction in University Honors and Dean’s List for all degrees
My hobbies include reading, traveling, golfing, yoga, collecting vinyl records, gaming, and cooking/baking! :)
