Budding Lotus Body I am a Certified Hanna Somatic Educator offering 1-on-1 sessions and group classes in Santa Fe, NM and globally online.

It is my desire to support others to reach their goals, whether it is increased mobility, less pain, feeling embodied or relaxation. I offer Hanna Somatic Education classes and private sessions online and in-person in Santa Fe, NM. This practice is designed to work with chronic tension and pain in the body and help ease limitations, pain and lack of coordination. I trained at the Novato Institute for Somatic Research & Training.

We’ve been looking at strength all wrong!

The most frequent assumption hear from people with muscle weakness or injuries is that they need to strengthen their muscles by lifting weights or doing other bodyweight activities in order to accomplish their goal.

It’s pretty rare that those people have atrophied muscles, it is WAY more likely that their muscles are actually exhausted because they have been working around the clock, holding onto subconscious tension patterns.

It is even possible that they have no awareness of this tension unless it is causing them pain or movement issues.

Before you jump to the weight room, UNLEARN your tension first. You will feel stronger and more capable once you are not carrying around the extra effort in your muscles and you will be more successful if you do start weight lifting or doing body-weight exercises.

Don’t get be wrong, I am all for the benefits of working with weights, just make sure your mobility, flexibility and strength are at full capacity first.

Back by popular demand: Ease Your Knees-A Hanna Somatics Series

In-Person, Online and RECORDED!

Wednesdays
June 3rd - 17th
12:30pm – 1:30pm MT

Our knees are a big part of our daily activities and when they don’t feel good, life can get a lot more difficult. Hanna Somatics can offer a gentle solution to keep your knees, and the vast muscles, ligaments, and fascia that surround them, feeling good and moving with more freedom.

Over this 3-week series we will look at the relationship between your feet, ankles, knees, and hips to increase your movement freedom and coordination in your lower extremities. You will also learn specific movements to release tension in the muscles that directly affect your knee joints in walking, standing, and many other activities. The movements are simple, accessible, and can be integrated into your personal practice so you can continue supporting your knees long after the series ends.

Drop-ins are welcome for students who cannot make the whole series. Classes are verbally guided and will be taught in reclined positions on the floor. Recorded replay with one week unlimited access will be sent to all students.

When I offer a class series through Breathe the classes are recorded and shared for 7 days. This means that you not only can take the class at any time of day, but ALSO, you can take the class as many times as you want in those 7 days.

The benefits of Hanna Somatics are cumulative, so if you are looking to continue supporting your soma, you are invited to take the classes more than once, or take a part of them over a few days and return to the movements that feel good for you.

Tomorrow is the last of the Low Back Nexus series, and you are still welcome to join if you would like, and next Tuesday we begin Deep Rest - a 4-week series for exhaustion, burnout, and nervous system relief.
