Cancer Foundation for New Mexico

To help the people of Northern New Mexico navigate their cancer journey with hope, dignity, and needed support.

The Cancer Foundation for New Mexico (CFFNM) is a local, independent non-profit organization formed in 2003 whose mission is to help save lives by providing the needed support to enable every northern New Mexican with cancer to access treatment in Santa Fe. We assist by underwriting travel, housing and meal expenses associated with prescribed treatment. Additionally, we address the need for emotional support by providing free weekly cancer support groups for patients, their families and caregivers. We supply trained volunteer support during treatment, and also offer Spanish speaking interpreters during diagnostic procedures.

Today is World Health Day 🌎💚

This year’s theme: “Together for health: Stand with science” reminds us that better outcomes start with knowledge, but they only matter if people can access care.

For cancer patients across Northern New Mexico, basic needs – like gas money, rent, and groceries – can stand in the way of treatment. We help with transportation, accommodations, and nutritious meals so no one has to choose between getting care and everything else.

Access to care isn’t optional – it’s essential.

Our Story

The Cancer Foundation for New Mexico (CFFNM) is a local, independent non-profit organization formed in 2003 whose mission is to help save lives by providing the needed support to enable every northern New Mexican with cancer to access treatment in Santa Fe. We provide a full range of support services, including mileage reimbursement, hotel lodging, and grocery gift cards to cancer patients receiving treatment in Santa Fe. To date, no qualified patient has ever been turned away. We provide other critical services to all cancer patients, regardless of financial need, including weekly professionally-led support groups for cancer patients, caregivers, and families; trained volunteers who provide support during treatment; Spanish-speaking volunteers to interpret; and information on available community resources.
