Ortho-Bionomy is a gentle non-invasive form of body and energy therapy that works through the nervous system and includes trauma release, structural balance, organ work, cranial work, neuro-lymphatic work - there is not an area or a layer in the physical, emotional, energetic body that cannot be addressed by Ortho-Bionomy. We use slow movements and positioning of the body to promote comfort and ease and in this way facilitate the release of painful patterns. As the session continues memories or awareness can come up, trauma can be cleared, old patterns that serve no longer can be changed. It is not the goal to move again through the memory or story of past trauma but to resource the body so that the system uses its own inner wisdom and can move to a different relationship to the past wound. Each session is individually shaped, the art of tracking of the practitioner is essential in this modality. Besides direct physical contact, Ortho-Bionomy includes different modes of working off the body. Tairifa Suloway often suggests home exercises to further neuromuscular re-education. In a cranial-sacral therapy session we tune into craniosacral rhythms. We work gently with the spine, the skull, its sutures, diaphragms, and fascia. Restrictions are eased, the movement of the cerebrospinal fluid can be optimized and misalignment can be balanced.
