Get ready to experience the spectacular solar eclipse. As the much-anticipated event approaches on Monday, April 8, the staff at Optical Shop of Santa Fe is excited to offer certified eclipse glasses at our showroom for only $10.00 each - limited quantities available.
To ensure you have the best and safest visual experience, we have created a guide just for you!
WHAT TO DO
* Wear Certified Solar Viewing Glasses: Ensure you wear solar viewing glasses that are certified to meet the ISO 12312-2 international safety standard for direct viewing of the sun.
* Supervise Children: Ensure children are supervised and equipped with proper eye protection.
* Take Breaks: If watching for an extended period, give your eyes regular breaks to avoid strain.

WHAT TO AVOID
* Don't Look Directly at the Sun: Never look at the sun without proper eye protection, especially during an eclipse.
* Avoid Counterfeit Glasses: Be cautious of counterfeit eclipse glasses and only use certified ones with the ISO 12312-2 certification mark.
* Don't Use Cameras or Binoculars: Avoid looking at the sun through cameras, binoculars, or telescopes without proper solar filters.
* Know When to Look Away: During the total phase of the eclipse when the sun is completely covered by the moon, it's safe to remove your eclipse glasses. However, if your location only experiences a partial eclipse, remember to wear your eclipse glasses throughout the event to protect your eyes from harmful solar radiation.
