The Birthing Tree Cooperative

The Birthing Tree Cooperative Non-profit organization dedicated to providing support through pregnancy and beyond in Santa Fe.

The Birthing Tree Cooperative is a group of midwives, doulas, educators and mothers dedicated to enhancing the experiences of pregnancy, birth and parenting in Santa Fe. We provide gentle and loving guidance through the transitions into parenthood by way of dynamic birth preparation classes, doula services, extended at-home postpartum care, and parenting groups and classes. We acknowledge the emot

ional, physical and spiritual needs of women and their families during this special time in their lives. We offer guidance and wisdom from experienced birth professionals during the childbearing year and beyond. Studies show that women who receive birth preparation and support during labor are confident in meeting the challenges of giving birth and caring for an infant.

Happy Mother’s Day!

At The Birthing Tree, we see every day how transformative that support can be—especially for families who might otherwise go without it. Doulas provide continuous, compassionate support during birth and postpartum.

Together, we can ensure more parents feel supported, respected, and not alone during birth and postpartum.

Your outreach helps ensure no parent has to navigate birth alone.

Your support means the world to mothers, babies, and families. Please donate (link in bio).

So grateful for our community 💛

A heartfelt thank you to and for creating such thoughtful and generous Mother’s Day boxes for families connected with The Birthing Tree.

These gifts are more than just boxes — they are reminders that our mothers, birthing people, and families are seen, supported, and deeply cared for. Thank you for showing up with such kindness, abundance, and community spirit. 🌷✨

Recently, I learned about a parent who went into labor unsure if anyone would be there to support her. She didn’t have insurance and spoke primarily Spanish. Through The Birthing Tree, she had a doula by her side the entire time—someone to advocate for her, comfort her, and stay with her through those first overwhelming days after birth.”

That kind of support changes everything.

Over the past three years, The Birthing Tree has supported:
• 394 births
• 377 families postpartum
• 4,400+ hours of care

And importantly, most of the families we serve would otherwise not have access to this support.

Please consider making a Mother’s Day gift to The Birthing Tree Fund so no one has to give birth alone. Link in bio

85% of our care is grant-funded.

That means a parent can focus on their birth, their baby, and their healing—not the cost of care.

The first night home with a newborn can be one of the hardest.

You’re exhausted.
You’re healing.
You’re learning everything all at once.

For one Birthing Tree family, their postpartum doula arrived that first week and quietly stepped in.

She helped soothe the baby.
She supported breastfeeding.
She gave the parents something they hadn’t had in days:

Rest.

That moment—being able to sleep, even for a few hours—can change everything.

Over the past three years, The Birthing Tree has provided 4,400+ hours of postpartum care like this.

Because support after birth isn’t a luxury.
It’s essential.
