I'm officially "retired" as an OT in California! However, God blessed me with a new role. I'm now the clinical supervisor for Therapy Abroad! I had the honor and privilege as a clinical supervisor to take 5 pre-OT students and 7 pre-speech therapy students to Bulgaria!
Such a blessing!
I'm 150% positive that the future OTs and SLPs are kind, caring, and ready!!
Here's some of the highlights of our adventures!

I'm blessed to be working with Therapy Abroad this month. I'm the clinical instructor for 13 OT and Speech therapy students. There's a requirement for volunteer hours before you apply to graduate school. These young men and women are fulfilling this requirement in Bulgaria and Greece.

Today we explored Sophia, the capital of Bulgaria.

As Kid’s Work Therapy closes a chapter in California, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to the visionary behind our clinic. Dr. Stephanie Foster is setting off on a new adventure– relocating to Tennessee!

From the beginning of Kid’s Work Therapy, Dr. Foster poured her passion, expertise, and love into creating a clinic that has supported countless children and families. Her unwavering dedication to helping our young ones reach their fullest potential has left an unforgettable mark on the Central Coast community. Her leadership, warmth, and compassion have inspired both the team and the families we have served over the years.

While we will deeply miss her presence here in California, we are incredibly excited for what lies ahead. Tennessee is lucky to welcome someone so committed to making a difference. We are hopeful that this move may bring new opportunities– perhaps even the reopening of her beloved clinic in a new state!

Thank you, Dr. Foster, for everything you have given us. Your legacy will always be part of this community’s story, and we wish you all the best in your next chapter!

Kids Work Therapy will continue to provide occupational therapy services through the end of May 2025.

Congratulations Dr. Stephanie! At the 2024 California Occupational Therapy Association annual conference, Dr. Foster completed the "Handle with Care" certification. This intensive course is in-depth training in all types of behavior management. This runs from verbal de-escalation, and empathetic listening, all the way to non-violent physical restraints & safe take-downs. Congratulations to Ms. Abigail Declines. Abby graduated this week from Stanbridge University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Abby also takes care of the Kid's Work website and marketing. She's a motivated and intelligent lady who has a heart for helping. We're so proud of you!!

This weekend, I am hosting a Home Blessing. My priest, mother, and church friends are coming over to bless my home. I'm asking for peace and fullness to reign. No more black mold! No more house crying or leaking! Just a place I can call "home".

I am grateful to my home for providing a safe haven in which I've weathered the storms of the past 3 years. I am even more grateful for a place to call for the past 24 years, where my last child was born, & my children launched into the world.

My home also is the location of Kid's Work Therapy. My home is a place of healing, growth, and understanding to many families on the Central Coast.
