Making homemade Skittles isn’t easy to replicate exactly—the original is heavily processed—but you can make a fun, natural version at home using fruit puree, sugar, and a little science. Here’s a DIY-style homemade “Skittles” recipe that gives you chewy, fruity bites with a similar vibe—and they store beautifully in Wallaby Mylar bags for later snacking. 🍬

Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh fruit (strawberries, mango, kiwi, raspberries—use a mix for different “flavors”)
- 2–4 tbsp sugar or honey (to taste)
- 1–2 tsp lemon juice
Optional: A pinch of citric acid for that signature tang
Cornstarch (for dusting after drying)
Instructions:

1. Blend your fruit
2. Combine fruit, sugar, and lemon juice in a blender until smooth. Strain to remove seeds or pulp if needed.
3. Simmer the puree over low heat for 10–15 minutes until it thickens to a jam-like consistency. Stir frequently!
4. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag or ziplock with the corner snipped off. Pipe small dots onto a parchment-lined baking tray.
5. Dry it out:
- Dehydrator: Dry at 135°F for 6–8 hours until chewy and no longer sticky.
- Oven: Dry at lowest temp (~170°F) for 3–4 hours, flipping halfway through.
