Today, I proudly celebrate 30 years of sobriety – ### 🎂
In these three decades, I’ve learned that "We don't have Bad Days; We have a Bad Two Hours." It’s all about perspective, realizing that difficult moments will pass, and I have access to an incredible playbook for life. One word that has guided me through this journey is "Slow-Briety." It reminds me to take it SLOW, One Day at A Time and to remain "Willing to be Willing,"—teachable to outside modalities, wisdom, ideas, routines and healers. 🦸
Being a "Sober Girl Dad" is truly the best job in town. My daughters' joy, laughter, and engagement fuel my commitment to staying sober and present for them. “Marriage is not for pu**ies,” and that doing the work is well worth it, especially with the right person. I was taught it’s essential to always “Suit Up & Show Up" for the people no matter what the situation is.👨👩👧👧
I've realized that "Good People know Good People." Surrounding myself with "Amazing Humans" has been key to my success. Plus, I learned to "Unpack the Backpack of Shame," letting go of what no longer serves me and move my story forward not backward.🏃♂️
It really comes down to this: "Don't Drink or Use No Matter What. Go to Meetings. And Grow the F up! " My journey has been consistent, starting with “Sobriety” then moving into “Recovery” and now I’m working on the “Wellness” phase of my life. 🥷
To anyone still fighting that internal battle: there’s lots of HOPE! I believe “Everyone is Recovering from Something,” please know you’re never alone. No matter what your issue is… Just do one simple thing… Raise your hand and ask for help. 🙋♂️
