One of my favorite authors, Elizabeth Gilbert, loves to say that "ideas have souls." In early 2016, I could no longer deny an idea that kept asking me to give it life. I felt drawn to create experiences for young women to get outside and reconnect with themselves, their families, and other women in their community. Little did I know then that another women in my community had the very same dream.

A few weeks later, a dear friend connected me with Tanya Folsom. We found ourselves sitting at the Rose Cafe in Venice Beach and sharing almost identical dreams. We both had a passion for helping young girls and women reconnect with themselves and each other. Tanya Folsom is a gifted outdoor leadership professional with Fulcrum Adventures, educator, and mom. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist that specializes in working with teens and women.

The morning we met, Tanya had tears in her eyes as we shared our dreams over coffee. A few months later, we hosted our first retreat for mothers and daughters in Malibu. This year we will be running five retreats for...mothers/daughters...fathers/daughters...and one just for adult ladies! Thank you to everyone who listened to us talk about this dream. Thank you for pushing us out of our comfort zone and for reminding us that women, young and old, need a place to feel brave and loved.
