Fellas! We’ve got work to do this month. Here’s a list of things you can do to do at least 30% of the domestic labor in your household. When you do more domestic labor, your partner has more emotional space for you and your relationship.
1. Mop those floors at least 3 days of the week. Don’t know how to run that fancy electric mop she has? She didn’t know how to run it either! But google and YouTube are powerful machines to help you learn.
2. Going on a trip with the family? Sit down and imagine every activity that your kids might do on that trip and then PACK THEIR BAGS. And I mean every bit of that bag. Diapers, sleep sacks, sound machines, medications, socks, shoes for every activity, etc.
3. Do the closing shift every single night until Mother’s Day. She’s done it for years, so you have some catching up to do. Stand in the middle of the kitchen, living room, and bathroom and look for the mess. Look for ways to clean up, organize, and reset so the next day is less stressful.
4. Prepack lunches and water bottles for the kids. Don’t have the groceries for it? Get the login info to Instacart. She has to think about this crap every day and it’s exhausting.
I have more ideas if you’re eager to support your partner! Just LMK
