I have created this sacred group to support women who have had to terminate a much wanted pregnancy due to circumstances not in their control, such as a fetal anomaly diagnosis. I carefully screen each participant so each group feels as if they are connecting whole heartedly with other women who have had to make similar decisions. It is through connection with others that we can facilitate our healing journey and find more self compassion for our grief. “Grief can not be fixed, it must be carried.” Grief is Love - ♥️ therefore the heart must be tended to. The emotions of grief need space for expression, not suppression - the mind will interfere, family and friends may interfere, your conditioning and beliefs about grief may interfere, society may interfere and your work place may interfere with your ability to grieve openly and honestly. Many, many women, men, and children will say they are “ok” when they are shattered inside - afraid of what others may say or not say, do or not do if they were to share their emotional pain with others. Many are suffering in isolation and silence. Grief doesn’t ‘go away’ - doesn’t dissolve over time - grief moves in and stays your whole life. The sharpness of the pain may soften over time however grief and the heart ♥️ must be tended to with love, self compassion and self care. ✨🙏✨

In 1988 President Ronald Reagan designated The month of October as pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. However, this is not an international observance. Most non-English speaking countries do not recognize October as raising public awareness around pregnancy and infant death. Pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day is an annual remembrance day that is observed in the United States, Australia and Canada on October 15th. In recent years, it has also been observed in the United Kingdom and Italy. Remembrance ceremonies and candlelight vigil‘s are held in many cities on October 15th. Many people participate in the International Wave of Light, lighting candles at 7:00 PM in their respective time zones. The candles are left burning for at least one hour. Pregnancy loss at any gestational age in-utero or after birth, can not only be traumatic to a woman’s mental, physical, and spiritual health, it can also increase mental health complications in a subsequent pregnancy. This is the month to SAY THEIR NAMES! To shatter the silence around pregnancy losses of all kinds and infant loss - miscarriage (1 in 4); termination for fetal anomaly; termination for any reason; mid-pregnancy spontaneous miscarriages; premature birth that ends in death; stillbirth (1 in 160); infant death; SIDS (1 in 1000). If you have experienced pregnancy loss and/or an infant death please share your story. You are SO not alone - sending love to all the beautiful brave courageous bereaved mothers in the world. ✨🙏✨
