Dr. Emily Sikking is a board-certified OBGYN serving the Santa Monica, CA, area. Dr. Sikking earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New England Medical Center. With over 18 years of experience in the field, Dr. Sikking is truly an expert in women’s health and offers her patients care for pregnancy, family planning, menopause, and PCOS. She also wants to help women look and feel their best, with advanced treatments like laser hair removal, body sculpting, and vaginal rejuvenation. Here’s what her patients are saying:
“Dr. Sikking is highly skilled, very smart, and full of warmth and personality. I believe she observes and mitigates potential risks that other doctors wouldn’t due to her careful diligence and specialized prenatal schedule. Most other moms I know did not have access to their OBs very regularly. I feel like I am getting the best care possible when I see her. I have also seen her handle a very difficult situation with professionalism, grace, and humanity.” – N.M.
“I couldn’t ask for a better OB/GYN. Dr. Sikking is realistic, funny, honest, and approachable. I have been going to her for over five years now and actually look forward to my annual check-ups. Now that I’m having my first child, I can’t think of a better person to deliver our baby. I rarely find doctors who are as good with patients as they are smart. If you are looking for a smart, cool, female doctor who “get it,” look no further. I look forward to every visit to their practice. Can’t say enough great things and would recommend her to anyone.” -Xanthe H.

A fabric womb made by Angélique du Coudray, a French midwife who was commissioned by King Louis XV to reduce infant mortality. From 1760 to 1783, she traveled all over France, visiting poor rural women and sharing her extensive knowledge with them. It is estimated that she trained some 10,000 women.
Du Coudray also invented the first lifesize obstetrical mannequin, for practicing mock births, and published a well-received midwifery textbook
