UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center recently opened its doors after a major rebuilding project to replace most of the existing facility with a new, state-of-the-art medical center offering optimal inpatient facilities, as well as the 16,000-square-foot Nethercutt Emergency Center. The rebuilt hospital will connect to the existing Merle Norman Pavilion and features an inviting, user-friendly design compatible with the hospital's neighborhood setting. Some of its key features will include six new, state-of-the-art operating rooms, a critical care unit with state-of-the-art medical equipment and 360-degree access to patients, an expanded inpatient pediatrics unit, all-digital imaging technology, leading-edge medical equipment and communications technology. Celebrating pediatric care. 💙 Our 6NW Pediatrics Unit at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center is one of only ten units in the US that has been honored with the Diamond Pediatric Nursing Excellence Award by the Society of Pediatric Nurses! This national recognition celebrates our nurses for going above and beyond to deliver compassionate, age-appropriate care that puts kids and families first.
