We promised you guys a follow up treatment to a positive Thomas test in our last post so here you go! Swipe 👉

1️⃣ Myofascial Release to hip flexor, re**us femoris, and 2️⃣ ITB by rolling out on foam roller
3️⃣ Half kneeling hip flexor stretch with added knee flexion which stretches the re**us femoris as well (pro tip: if you want a deeper stretch at a resistance band just in like picture #5️⃣)
6️⃣ Single leg glute bridge, you will use the affected leg to perform the work in order to promote gluteus Maximus strength
These are stretches are simple yet super effective and are 🔑 in the treatment process!! @ All Star Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine

Happy guys! People are constantly asking us how we diagnose a patient and how we know how to fix them so that they are back to 💯 percent. So we decided to show you a series of tests and treatments that we do on our real life patients. Our patient is a body builder 🏋🏻‍♂️ who describes his issue as having increased quad contraction/decreased glute strength on his right side as well as right sided inner knee pain. Diagnostic test🔍:The Thomas Test
This is a special test used to check the length of the muscles involved in bending the hip. These muscles are the 1️⃣ iliopsoas, 2️⃣re**us femoris and 3️⃣the iliotibial band.

A positive sign of this test would show the patient’s right leg higher than parallel to the floor while in this position showed in the picture. If the patient’s hip moves outwards during the test, this could also indicate tightness in the TFL 😬

The iliopsoas and re**us femoris are both 2️⃣ joint hip flexors (they cross the hip and knee). With tightness, a patient may develop an anterior pelvic rotation, limited gluteus Maximus activation, or knee cap maltracking with inner knee pain.

Want to know how we plan on fixing our patient🤯?! Stay Tuned!!
👩🏼‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️Treatment to follow in next post😀
