Standing in solidarity with my mental health therapist/MSW brothers and sisters who are being denied pensions and being exploited by Kaiser Permanente while their patients go without treatment. Mental health is just as important as physical health.

I would like to see the Hollywood studios make movies again. When DVD's were replaced by streaming the industry adapted to create films for the international market with one thing in mind - money.

But Hollywood has lost its heart and soul and is in crumbling ruins. Su***de, substance abuse, mental health issues abound and abuse of power and every form of interpersonal violence courses through Hollywood's veins.

To rebuild Hollywood and bring filmmaking back home to where it started, the whole way the Hollywood machine is run needs to transform. It needs the very thing that it abhors - tenderness and vulnerability. Vulnerability does not make money but it is an unavoidable aspect of the human condition. Kindness is not the same as weakness. Vulnerability does not have be associated with danger that requires shark like instincts to defend against.

We all need to make money of course, but we can do it without iron fists and a culture that is complicit to violence.

For those of you in the film industry, if the set is evocative, such as a run down house or dark dank hospital, would you appreciate if the Producer, in his safety speech, acknowledged the affect that such a setting may bring out in people as they go about the day?
