Imagine your child’s brain as a beautifully tended garden. Every connection thriving, every signal flowing, everything in harmony.

Now imagine the gardeners, the ones responsible for maintaining that system, suddenly turning destructive. That’s what happens when the brain’s immune cells, the microglia, go into overdrive.

Instead of protecting the nervous system, they start tearing it apart. Neural circuits are disrupted. Communication breaks down. And what once looked like focus, learning, or calm starts to fall apart.

This is what chronic inflammation can do to a child’s brain.

Have you ever experienced a moment when your child suddenly changed and no one could explain why?

Some parents won’t say it out loud, but they’re thinking it.

Why is my kid acting like such a jerk?

That was the case with John. He was five. Constant meltdowns. Saying hurtful things to his mom. Refusing to eat anything but junk. Waking up in the middle of the night. Picking fights at school and at home.

His behavior didn’t make sense. And that’s exactly the point.

What most people miss is that behavior like this can be a symptom. Not of bad parenting. Not of a personality flaw. But of inflammation in the brain.

We made a few key changes. Calmed his immune response. Cleaned up his diet. A month and a half later, the tantrums were gone. He started eating real food. Sleeping through the night. Playing nicely. No more name-calling. No more chaos.

And once we cooled the fire, his true self could finally come through.

Neuroinflammation can often be linked to mold exposure, so if you want to learn more about this, comment “Dampness” and I’ll send you an article I personally wrote.

What if childhood behaviors are like the yellow warning light on a car?

They don’t mean the engine is about to explode, but they are a sign that something deeper might be going wrong under the hood.

Too often we assume a child’s meltdown, anxiety, or impulsivity is just bad behavior or bad parenting. But what if those outbursts are the body’s way of saying something isn’t right?

It could be gut dysfunction. Mold in the environment. A nutrient deficiency. Thyroid or adrenal imbalances.

Behavior is communication. The question is - are we listening?

Have you ever had a moment where your child’s behavior didn’t make sense, but your gut told you something more was going on?

I’ve had a lot of people ask me: Are peptides actually any good in autism treatments?

Why I can’t talk about this one specifically (Melatonan 2) since I have never used it - I can tell you that peptides are certainly not bogus.

One peptide I’ve been using in my practice is KPV, and the results are quite exceptional.

I’ve had kids with extreme cases of inflammation completely treated within a few weeks - it’s that powerful.

However, it’s important that you know something. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all quick fix, it’s part of a complex treatment in which we take all the pieces of the puzzle and assemble them together to get these kids to feel well and safe.

In my practice, one of the most common causes of inflammation is mold exposure, so if you want to read an article I wrote about the mold protocol I personally use, comment “Protocol” and I’ll send it to you.⤵️

There are so many kids who are struggling. Some are given a formal label, others just struggle but are their struggle is not given a name.

Underneath this struggle is A LOT of inflammation and toxicity, especially for those children who are most profoundly impacted. In my experience, dampness and mold is one of the primary drivers of this. It can continue to impact a child LONG after the child has moved out of the moldy home. Why? Because these toxins are incredibly efficient at disrupting the gut, which then creates a cycle of chronic toxicity and inflammation FROM WITHIN.

How do I help these kids? Pretty simple:
1) Address the toxin exposure (if they are still living in it)
2) Heal the gut - unfortunately, this requires some heavy-duty treatments. This is why f***l transplants can help. For most of the kids I serve, we don’t need to go there. Peptides like Larazotide (NOT Lorazepam) and KPV have been showing incredible efficacy in healing the gut. When combined with itraconazole, the transformations in some children are truly remarkable.

Start asking questions. Do your own research. Find a provider who is familiar with these treatments.

Also, if you want to know more about this amazing antifungal called Itraconazole, just comment "ITZ" and I'll send you an interesting article I wrote about it.

First, important to highlight that this child was NOT actually diagnosed with autism, but correctly diagnosed with PANS (Brain Inflammation). Had this child seen some other provider, they would have labeled him as autistic.

Beautiful story though - this sweet little boy who presented with severe anxiety, intrusive thoughts, repetitive behaviors - really struggling to be in the world. 5 months later with the combination of peptides KPV + Larazotide, itraconazole, some basic supplements, clean diet and clean HOME - the majority of his challenges were resolved!

If you want to learn more about Itraconazole (one of the most powerful and efficient antifungals I’m using in my practice), comment “ITZ” and I’ll send you an article I wrote about it.

“I WOULD GET ANGRY FOR NO REASON” - Did you catch that?

What this gentleman was brave enough to talk about was the constellation of challenges MANY KIDS WITH ADHD HAVE. It is not just that they are distractible, losing focus, and/or hyperactive. They often lose the ability to regulate their emotions. Microglial and mast cell activation disrupt the wiring of the limbic system, which disrupts the fear response, which can result in anxiety OR ANGER/AGGRESSION.

WE MUST LOOK BEYOND THESE LABELS AND PUSH TO UNDERSTAND THE TRUE PHYSIOLOGICAL CAUSE AND START HELPING THESE KIDS AT THIS ROOT-CAUSE LEVEL.

I see so many kids who are struggling, my heart goes out to each and every one, and if you want to be more informed on this issue, comment “MAST” and I’ll send you an interesting article.

I am all for parenting guidance, behavioral modification, and therapeutics of all types (PT, OT, ABA) - BUT how often do we stand back and ask WHY is my child behaving and acting the way they are?

Here is one truth - BRAIN INFLAMMATION CAUSES SOMETIMES SEVERE FORMS OF HYPERACTIVITY, IMPULSIVITY, AND/OR DISTRACTIBILITY. AND you CANNOT THERAPY inflammation away.

If you have tried all the parenting tools out there, and your child continues to struggle - I hope this video empowers you to stand back and ASK WHY. IS MY CHILD’S BRAIN ON FIRE - AND IS THIS THE REASON WHY THEY STRUGGLE AS THEY DO?

There are so many things we can do to help - once we start asking why…

How do we help a child’s brain reconnect, refocus, and come back online when it feels like everything is shutting down?

We often rush into treatments without asking the most important question first. Why is the brain struggling in the first place?

What I’ve seen time and time again is that the root cause often comes back to neuroinflammation. When the immune cells in the brain become overactive, usually due to gut issues, toxins, or mold exposure, they start disrupting neural connections. That’s when learning stops, language regresses, behavior changes, and children begin to disconnect from the world around them.

But when you address the root cause, when you calm the inflammation and support the gut and the nervous system, the results can be remarkable. I’ve seen nonverbal kids begin speaking in phrases. I’ve seen kids who couldn’t focus become curious, engaged learners. I’ve seen connection and joy return.

This is why I do what I do. Because every child deserves the chance to thrive.

Have you ever seen a moment where your child surprised you, where something finally clicked, even after a long struggle? I'd love to hear your story.

More and more kids these days are struggling with some form of neurodevelopmental challenge, including anxiety, ADHD, ASD, emotional dysregulation, sensory distortions, aggression/oppositional behaviors, along with a host of other challenges.

Not often enough do we ask WHY. We are so quick to label the child with whatever diagnosis, but we don’t ask WHY the child developed the given challenge(s) in the first place!

I believe that all children are born smart and capable of learning. I believe all children are filled with love and joy. AND WHEN THEY CANNOT express or access these innate capabilities, we need to ask WHY.

This video is to help every parent start understanding why their child is struggling and feel empowered to ask WHY.

If you want to see the protocol I created (shared before) around how to identify and treat some of the effects of mold with your provider, type in “Treatment” and we will send you a link.

I have lost count on the number of times families have sent me pictures of horrible amounts of mold that was found in their home, EXCEPT it was rarely visible if you just looked on the outside.

Unlike this video, most of the time, families have no idea there is a problem.

Worse yet, some think about mold, and hire a well-intending inspector who does superficial visual inspection and takes 2-3 samples and concludes, "There is no mold.” And so many families (and doctors) overlook the possibility of mold - while the child just gets sicker and sicker.

If you are worried about mold, just type in “dusttest” and we will send you a link to how you can test your own home.

Less is more.

I’m pretty sure you heard this before in many different scenarios, and from my 15 years of experience as a pediatrician, I can say with certainty that it applies to supplements as well.

Many years ago, I was the one recommending 10-15 supplements per day for some of the kids who were really struggling.

That was until I realized that some of the ingredients within the supplements for some kids WERE THE REASON WHY THEY CONTINUE TO STRUGGLE.

Kids who have been exposed to mold become hypersensitized to mold fragments. Citric acid (found in 50% of all supplements) is DERIVED FROM MOLD - and happens to be immunologically similar to mold!

Some kids whose immune systems are sensitive will also react to a host of botanicals. I have had kids become aggressive and with severe OCD, or experience abdominal pain with just a few drops of herbal “detox” mixes that are generally presumed safe.

If you are giving your child multiple vitamins, and they are still struggling, give them 1-2 weeks off and see how they do.

Now that we’ve talked about this, it made me very curious about something: How many supplements do you make your kid take every day? I’ll have my eye on the comments section.⤵️
