As we close out Black History Month, let us remember the amazing and life-changing contributions that the Black community has made to healthcare around the world.

From Black nurses, physicians, and researchers who challenged inequities, to community health advocates who continue to fight for access and justice. their impact shapes the care we provide today.

For our future healthcare professionals, this is a reminder that representation matters. Advocacy is part of practice. Health equity is essential, not optional.

We honor Black history not just in February, but in the way you show up for your patients, your peers, and your communities every single day.

✨ Meet Emma, our new HOPE Student Success Specialist! ✨

Emma is a first-gen SRJC student, a proud mom, and currently applying to the Nursing Program. Over the past 5 years at SRJC, she’s built her journey with resilience, heart, and a deep belief in second chances.

She’s passionate about supporting students through their academic paths and dreams of helping individuals facing poverty, addiction, and disabilities, being a voice for those who need it most. 💗

We had our first PNP Pizza Pop-Up of the semester!

For this pop-up we spent some time thinking about the services and support that pre-nursing student need and deserve.

Many students highlighted the importance of academic support such as Avanzando PALS and HOPE Tutoring services. Others highlighted the importance of having student facing staff members who can clarify their path at SRJC and guide them towards resources. Another emphasis was made on basic needs.

We thank all the students that showed up and provided very valuable information and feedback. We hope to keep building PNP with more intentional support. ❤️💌🌹

The HOPE Center will be closed starting tomorrow and will reopen next Tuesday.

We officially welcomed 80 healthcare students into the HOPE family this semester! The room was filled with energy, intention, and so much heart.

From learning about program resources to building community with future healthcare professionals, this cohort showed up ready to grow.
