Dr. Canales trained at Harvard and Stanford and was also on the Harvard clinical faculty. Dr. Culbertson trained in plastic surgery at UCLA and completed the country’s most sought after Aesthetic fellowship at UT Southwestern. >Fat grafting only, no implants!<
This young mother wanted to add volume and shape to her breasts, but preferred not to have implants. She was also a good candidate for liposuction. Dr. Culbertson performed fat grafting of both breasts with improvement in her symmetry in addition to volume and shape, using the fat obtained from lipo 360 of her abdomen, flanks, hips and back. While implants can achieve a greater volume increase than fat grafting alone, this is a great option for many patients and can be combined with a breast lift as well.

Not all tummy tucks (abdominoplasty) are the same, especially in terms of the technique and amount of liposuction performed at the same time. Treating the abdomen alone may yield a nice improvement, but then be out of balance with the rest of the body that was left untouched and the opportunity for a great result is missed. For most of Dr. Culbertson’s abdominoplasties he performs liposuction all the way around the core (lipo 360) to include the upper and lower back, hips and flanks in addition to sculpting the abdomen itself, achieving a superior and more harmonious result, such as seen in this patient 4 months postop.

Our Story

In 1992, Board Certified Plastic Surgeons Dr. Heather Furnas and Dr. Francisco Canales (husband and wife team), opened their practice in Santa Rosa, California. With a Stanford and Harvard background, Dr. Furnas and Dr. Canales brought the highest level of excellence in plastic surgery to wine country.

In 2007, Dr. Furnas and Dr. Canales opened the first Allegro MedSpa location in Sonoma County and in 2016, the second Allegro MedSpa opened in Marin County. In collaboration with the doctors, a team of well-trained nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and clinical aestheticians at our practice utilize the most advanced technology to help patients reach their goals. We offer both surgical and non-surgical customized solutions to meet any cosmetic need. Procedures include breast augmentation, body contouring, facial surgery, female rejuvenation, Botox, laser resurfacing, CoolSculpting, and much more.

Dr. Furnas and Canales’ dedication to the field of plastic surgery doesn’t end at their own practice. Both surgeons travel internationally to speak at plastic surgery conferences, allocate time to research in the field, and have published several medical articles. When not working, Dr. Furnas and Dr. Canales enjoy spending time with their children, Diego and Siena.
