Slow tempo music can actually help slow your breathing and heart rate, activating the body’s relaxation response.
In music therapy, we often pair soft rhythmic patterns or vocal toning with deep breathing to calm the nervous system. Even humming a steady tone for a few minutes can bring a noticeable sense of ease.
Music truly reminds us that breath and rhythm are two sides of the same healing coin.
