Gonna take the segmental show on the road! Next stop, New York, June, 7-9 with The Dao Collective.
Approved for 24 CA Cat 1 CEUs (counts 1:1 for NCCAOM)
Dr. Joshua Margolis, LAc is teaching an Intro. to Segmental Acupuncture workshop on June 7-9 in Irvington, NY, and it's a fantastic opportunity to deepen your understanding and expand your therapeutic toolbox.
You might not have come across the term "segmental acupuncture" in your training, but you’re likely applying its principles every day via Hua Tuo Jia Ji points and distal acupuncture points already.
For example, distal points like SP 6 and KD 3 are classical points for treating fertility issues and low back pain. They are innervated by S1/S2, the same spinal segmental levels that innervate the sacroiliac joint and uterus. That's why treating distal points near the ankle are so good at treating low back and gynecological issues.
Realizing how acupuncture points integrate into segmental acupuncture can significantly enhance the effectiveness of your treatments.
The Segmental Acupuncture approach pinpoints segmental dysfunction to address complex issues like referred pain, visceral discomfort, and autonomic symptoms. This approach can really help us get to the root of some puzzling conditions that might otherwise be tough to tackle.
To address segmental dysfunction Dr. Margolis will teach segmental assessment protocols and acupuncture approaches, manual therapy techniques, electro-stimulation protocols, periosteal pecking and much more.
Furthermore, you will also gain a deeper understanding of Medical Acupuncture: notably Gunn's Intramuscular Stimulation, Mann's periosteal pecking, Lawrence’s osteopuncture, cutaneous nerve stimulation, and segmental electroacupuncture "shotgun” technique Craig PENS.
You will come out with so many new tools and techniques to enhance your assessment and treatment protocols.
