Happy Match Week!
Residency may be busy but residents make time to stay connected with each other, including partners and furry/human kids! We also care about residents and faculty connecting with our wider communities, and advocating for social justice both locally and globally. R3 Thomas Dowlearn just returned from Peten Guatemala where he and our amazing Dr. Kate Feibusch (founder and director of Peten Health) taught POCUS to the lay community health workers caring for the majority of the community’s healthcare needs. Additionally, our residents recently got together to discuss and advocate for current humanitarian causes. As physicians, we can use our power and privilege to advocate for those who have no voice. This can take the form of reading and educating ourselves about current events, writing letters to elected officials, voting, providing direct care/education, and more. Part of our mission at KP Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency is to train leaders who will help transform the health, and health equity, of our communities. This means taking positive action to better support both our immediate communities and beyond.
