Perinatal mood disorders ARE THE SYMPTOM NOT THE PROBLEM.
Postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, postpartum rage - and all that gets classified into "perinatal mood disorders," are a NORMAL, HEALTHY, RESPONSE by Mothers, to a dysfunctional modern reality - which has collectively forgotten how to truly support and nourish LIFE.
We PREVENT perinatal mood disorders—
By tending to our NOURISHMENT (nutrient dense foods) PRIOR to conception and throughout the childbearing continuum (and always!)
By tending to the health of both our inner and outer environments (relative to the intergenerational trauma within our bloodlines + the quality of our relationships and Life).
By receiving prenatal CARE from people who LOVE us and who can accurately see us and reflect back to us who we are. By being in relationship with practitioners who understand that Mothers are our own experts.
By creating the conditions for physiologic, Mother-centered, family-centered BIRTH to unfold.
By our communities taking care of us, as we take care of our babies; helping us navigate our relationship transitions; celebrating us, honoring us, exalting us in our process of Matrescence.
By remembering that while modern humans exist in environments that are radically different from those in which we evolved - our human genome is essentially the same now as it was 1000 years ago. And that the physiologic requirements for postpartum WELLNESS is the same now as it was then.
These are our My work is dedicated to the creation of postpartum WELLNESS for Mothers, Families, Communities, Planet.
