Student Health PEERS at SRJC The PEERS are students at Santa Rosa Junior College who work to promote mental health and reduce stigma. For more information, visit www.calmhsa.org.

The PEERS program is funded by the voter-approved Mental Health Services Act (Prop. 63). It is one of several Prevention and Early Intervention Initiatives implemented by the California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA), an organization of county governments working to improve mental health outcomes for individuals, families and communities. 1️⃣ Civil Right: Title IX prohibits s*x discrimination in education ✨
2️⃣ All Students Protected: Applies to everyone, no matter your gender identity 🌈
3️⃣ No Retaliation: Schools cannot punish someone for filing a complaint 🚫
4️⃣ Safe Spaces: You should never have to share campus spaces with your abuser 🛡️
5️⃣ Proactive Protection: Schools must work to keep your campus free from s*x discrimination 🏫💪
6️⃣ Complaint Procedures: Clear steps for handling s*xual harassment & violence 📋
7️⃣ Right to Education: Schools cannot discourage you from continuing your education 🎓
8️⃣ No-Contact Orders: Schools can prevent alleged perpetrators from approaching or interacting with you ✋
9️⃣ Scope: All federally funded schools—including public K–12 & most colleges—must follow Title IX 📚

❓What Is Dating Violence?❓

Dating violence is abuse or violence against a person who is or has been in a romantic or intimate relationship with the victim. It can include physical, s*xual, emotional, or psychological harm.

The existence of a dating relationship is determined by:
⏳ The length of the relationship
💞 The type of relationship
🔁 The frequency of interaction between those involved
