12/02/2021

Let me get this straight:

We’re twenty months into a pandemic when a new variant comes along and all our President and his Chief Medical Adviser can tell us is:

“Get vaccinated… get booster shots… vaccinate all kids.”

Are you kidding me?

The ONLY recommendation is "get more jabs?"

What a disgrace.

How about some suggestions for boosting our immune systems.

You know, things like eating more fruits and vegetables, staying away from sugar, developing strategies for avoiding and dealing with stress, getting more sleep, taking whole food supplements.

I’m going to give the President a bit of a pass on this as he’s not a doctor and his decision making skills are, at best, questionable.

However, shouldn’t a doctor… a doctor who is the chief medical adviser to the President and has been the DIRECTOR of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Disease for over 35 years… shouldn’t this doctor be able to provide us with more, and better, advice than “get vaccines and boosters?”

Again, it’s a disgrace.

Makes me wonder, “Why aren’t our leaders leading?”

While I don’t have the answer to that question, I DO have a way to help you.

On this week’s episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast, BetyLou Pierce and I share with you four practical strategies that you can implement to help prevent you from getting the Omicron variant… or any other variant!

02/05/2021

On recent episodes of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast BetyLou Pierce and I have talked about the importance of Blood Sugar, Insulin and Insulin Resistance.

The point we've been trying to make is simple:

Too much sugar in your blood is bad for you and your health.

On this week’s episode of the podcast we share WHAT you can do if your blood sugar levels are too high.

Specifically, we share four strategies that will help lower your blood sugar NATURALLY... without the use of drugs.

They are:

1) Eat less food
2) Eat less often
3) Drink only water
4) Exercise

The most obvious of the four is the first one:

Eat less food.

Common sense tells us that the less food we eat = the less sugar we'll put into our bloodstreams = the less likely we'll develop high blood sugar levels.

In other words, if we cut down on the amount (portion) of food we eat at each meal, we'll cut down on the amount of sugar that gets into our blood.

To make this strategy work even better, we can make an extra effort to cut down on the amount of foods that are high in sugar.

This includes sweets, breads, pasta and cereals (carbs).

It also includes most fruits.

The more we reduce these foods from our diet, the more likely we are to lower our blood sugar levels.

Sounds easy, right?

Yes and no.

“Yes” in the sense that it’s not hard to understand how eating less sugar and carbs will lower the amount of sugar in our blood.

“No” in that it’s not easy to give these foods up.

At least not for everyone.

One tip I can give you is to try to add a little more protein to your meals.

No, it doesn’t taste as good… but it will help eliminate sugar “cravings.”

Also, be patient with yourself and be happy with small improvements.

The KEY isn't to be perfect but to be constantly getting better.

Whatever you do, don't quit.

Lowering your blood sugar level IS worth it AND...

You CAN do it!

Get started by listening to this week’s episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast.

144 hospital workers received the Covid-19 vaccine Tuesday and, within minutes were experiencing negative side-effects.

Within minutes!

Makes you wonder what side-effects will emerge within days… within weeks… within months and… within years?

It also makes you wonder WHY they chose to receive the vaccine?

It couldn’t be to reduce their risk of dying from the Coronavirus as the vaccine does NOT reduce that risk.

It also couldn’t be to reduce the chance of them spreading the Coronavirus as the vaccine does NOT reduce that risk either.

It must be that they believe the risk of side-effects from the vaccine is worth slightly improving their chances of not getting the Coronavirus from 99.3% to 99.9%

(Yes, in the vaccine trials, 99.3% of the group that did NOT get the vaccine did NOT get the Coronavirus.)

Hmmm……

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/16/health/covid-pfizer-vaccine-allergic-reaction.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage

One of the workers, who did not have a history of allergies, remained in the hospital on Wednesday night. Some reactions to the vaccine were also reported last week in Britain.

12/06/2020

Recently I've been posting about the study done by Pfizer on their new Covid-19 vaccine.

There were two groups involved, each with about 22,000 people.

I've mentioned how, in the NON-VACCINE group 162 individuals came down with the Coronavirus… which meant that 99.3% of the group did NOT.

I've also mentioned that, in the VACCINE group 8 individuals came down with the Coronavirus… which meant that 99.9% of the group did not.

Clearly, 8 individuals is less than 162 which means that the Vaccine group DID achieve somewhat better results than the non-vaccine group.

However, I wonder what the risk of getting the vaccine is as there have been no long term studies?

I also wonder how effective it will be for those individuals most likely to die from the Coronavirus - individuals over the age of 85 - as not one person that age was included in the study.

But that’s not what I want to talk about today.

Instead, I want to ponder this:

What kind of Immunity will the 162 individuals have now that they’ve had the Coronavirus?

That is, when you consider the 162 individuals from the Non-Vaccine group that got the Coronavirus… will they, in the long run, prove to have better and stronger immunity than the group that received the vaccine?

In addition, will they be less likely than the Vaccine group to TRANSFER the Coronavirus to those around them?

Hmmm….

In other words, what if the BEST protection - especially for healthy individuals under the age of 50 - proves to be GETTING the Coronavirus.

Don’t get me wrong… I’m NOT suggesting that people try to get the Coronavirus.

However, we can’t dismiss the idea that it just may be the best thing for healthy individuals.

Perhaps I’m wrong, but shouldn’t this be studied?

After all, these vaccines ARE being paid for with our tax dollars.

And, while I won’t hold my breath waiting for Pfizer, or any other vaccine manufacturer, to include this in their study, I do hope to make YOU aware of the concept that, for many people, getting the Coronavirus MAY prove to offer excellent long-term protection.

I also hope that you’ll listen to this week’s episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast.

Did you know there is a story in the Bible where Jesus sent His disciples out to heal the people in surrounding towns?

And, as He sent them, He gave them something to help with their “mission trip.”

Want to guess what it was?

Vaccines?

Drugs?

Herbs?

Vitamins?

No… no… no… and no.

Jesus didn’t give them any THING to help them heal the people.

Instead He gave them something far more powerful:

AUTHORITY!

“Jesus called his twelve disciples and gave them authority to… heal every disease and sickness.” (Matthew 10:1)

Hmmm…..

I wonder if Jesus would do the same thing today?

That is, if He was to walk the earth today, would He send out His disciples with “authority”…

Or, would He send them out with something different?

Something like a powerful message.

A message to remind us that the greatest healing power on the planet can't be found in a "thing."

It can be found residing within us!

Let me explain:

In Matthew 10, when Jesus sent out His disciples, it was before He had died for us on the Cross. And it was before He had been resurrected. The people, therefore, needed a "go-between" because they didn't have direct access to the power of God like we do today.

We tend to forget about that... and we tend to forget how blessed we are.

That is, we forget that, unlike the people who were alive at the same time as Jesus, we have access to the power that raised Him from the dead.

Not only that, we don't have to go anywhere to get it... nor do we have to have anyone bring it to us.

Why?

Because it's IN us!

"The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you." (Romans 8:11)

That's amazing!

The Spirit and power of God - the same Spirit and power that raised Jesus from the dead - LIVES in you and me!

Just knowing this should make us feel better!!!

it should also make us question why we'd look anywhere else - or TO anyone else - for our healing.

The answer is... we shouldn't!

Instead, what we SHOULD do is figure out ways to "activate" this power of God.

That is, we should use vitamins, herbs, sunlight, sleep, exercise, water and any other natural "remedy"... NOT to heal us, but to activate the power of God within us.

Stated another way, we should be doing things to help create an environment in which the body can heal itself.

We SHOULDN'T be "treating" sickness and/or disease.

We should be treating PEOPLE... and we should "treat" them by helping them do things that will activate their own body's ability to heal.

One such tool we could use for this is supplements. And, on this week's episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast BetyLou and I share with you the supplements we recommend for PEOPLE who have tested positive for the flu or Coronavirus.

Check out...

11/16/2020

An friend of mine called me the other day.

“Hey, do you get a flu shot?” he asked.

“No” was my quick reply.

“Well, that’s what I thought …It’s also the reason why I called you. You see, I don’t want to get one either. I don’t think they work and I don’t want any unnecessary drugs put in my body. …But, I also don’t want to get the flu. So, what should I take?”

For a moment I paused and gently shook my head, simply because I knew that - no matter what I told him - he would have a problem with it. Nevertheless, he is a good friend so I decided to answer him.

“Actually, there’s a few things you can do…”

“Nooooo!!!” he blurted out, not at all caring that he was interrupting me. “I don’t want ‘a few things I can do’. I want you to tell me ONE thing that I can do that will help me avoid getting the flu.”

I started to get frustrated with him because I don’t believe that a person should rely on only ONE thing to prevent the flu. However, I know my friend and he is as stubborn as a mule and that he won’t quit until I only told him ONE thing.

Therefore, after a brief pause, I responded.

“Hmm…. If there was only one thing that I could suggest, it would have to be that you start taking an herb called Echinacea Premium.”

“Echinacea… I’ve taken that before. I can get it at Walmart, right?”

“No you can’t” I replied.

“What do you mean I can’t? I’ve seen it there… right next to the laxatives.”

I started laughing and said, “Yes, it’s true that you can get Echinacea at Walmart… but you can’t get the kind that I recommend”.

I knew what was coming next:

“What’s so special about YOUR Echinacea… this - what did you call it - Echinacea Premium?”

“I’m glad you asked! The short answer is that Echinacea Premium is the BEST Echinacea that I have ever used. It provides a strong nutritional boost to your Immune System so that it can be at maximum strength during cold and flu season.”

For a moment there was silence; something that rarely happens when we are on the phone together. But he then asked what was actually a very good question:

“How is that different than other brands of Echinacea?”

“In my opinion,” I replied, “the highest quality Echinacea supplements are made from the ROOTS of the Echinacea plant. Specifically, from the roots of two particular species: Echinacea Purpurea and Echinacea Angustifolia.

“Unfortunately, most companies DON’T offer Echinacea taken from the roots of the plants AND they don’t use these specific species of Echinacea.

The reason is simple: to get such high-quality Echinacea, you must use a production process that is much more detailed and expensive, thereby cutting into profits. It’s much easier for companies to sell an inferior Echinacea product that provides them with a greater profit.”

“That figures”, my friend responded, “but how do I know if a company uses the roots of…”

There was a brief pause before my friend continued “…of whatever the name of those two Echinacea plants were?”

“Echinacea Purpurea and Echinacea Angustifolia”. “Don’t worry”, I continued, “I’ll text their names down to you. And, while I’m at it, I’ll also text another word to you. It’s ‘alkylamides’.”

“What’s that?” he asked.

“Alkylamides are the active chemicals that provide the real Immune-boosting POWER to Echinacea. That is, the ability of Echinacea to strengthen the Immune System - allowing you to combat stress from things like changes in weather or temperature - comes from the alkylamides in the Echinacea. This, of course, is the key to preventing the flu. The product that we are talking about, Echinacea Premium, contains 4.1mg of alkylamides per tablet: far more than any other product I’ve investigated.

By this time I could sense that my friend was a bit confused, so I decided to make things easier for him.

“For a moment, forget everything that I just said, and remember this ONE thing:

You can tell If an Echinacea supplement contains these very important and powerful alkylamides, by the fact that you will experience a distinct ‘tingle’ in your mouth upon chewing it.”

I wasn’t surprised when he responded, “Tingle? …I don’t recall any Echinacea product ever causing my mouth to tingle.”

“Exactly!” I exclaimed. “That’s because you’ve never had REAL Echinacea before.”

“I guess not” he said with a laugh.

“Hey”, he continued, “don’t bother texting any of this to me. I’m not going to waste my time or money with inferior Echinacea. I want this Echinacea Premium stuff. …You’ve got some in your office, right?”

“I sure do... AND I also have it available on a website that you can order it from and have it mailed directly to your home."

"Wow" he said. "That would be great! What's the url?"

Atlas.StandardProcess.com

I then told him, "Before ordering, you may want to listen to this week's episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast."

Some of the best advice in the Bible will “work” whether you believe in God or not.

For example, look at Proverbs 23:7

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”

That pretty much is advising us to pay attention to our thoughts and attitude as they define us.

For example:

THINK you will have a good day… and you probably will.

THINK you will have a bad day… and you probably will.

That's a principle that holds true no matter who you are or what faith you believe in.

Another verse of scripture that serves as good advice for can be found in Romans 4:17

“Call those things that be not as though they were.”

Here, we are being advised to go beyond THINKING about good outcomes in our life...

We are being encouraged to SPEAK them into existence!

That is we should SPEAK as if the outcome we desire has ALREADY happened.

For example, if you have a big meeting coming up…

You shouldn’t ASK God to make it go well.

Instead, you should THANK Him for making it go well.

That is, you should SPEAK as if you ALREADY have whatever it is you desire.

Again...

“Call those things that be not as though they were.”

Here’s the lesson:

THINKING of good and positive outcomes is a wise thing to do.

So is SPEAKING about them.

Therefore, MAKE time each day to incorporate THINKING and SPEAKING about good and positive outcomes for your life.

Doing so is actually a form of Visualization... and it will not only IMPROVE your life, it will help you manage any stress that you encounter during the day.

And THAT is really good for your health.

It’s also just ONE of the ten tips BetyLou Pierce and I share on this week’s episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast.

Perhaps the greatest piece of advice I ever received from a college professor came during my sophomore year.

I don’t remember the teacher’s name but I do remember the class.

It was MIS 201… the introductory class for those of us who had chosen to major in Management Information Systems (MIS).

It was the second week of the semester and, as class came to a close, the professor held up a magazine.

He told us that it was the leading journal in the MIS industry and, for that reason, he recommend we subscribe to it.

Not because we would understand any of the articles… as beginners we wouldn’t.

Instead, he suggested we subscribe to it because by the time we graduated in two and a half years, we’d not only understand so much more of it… the knowledge we'd gain regarding what’s going on in the field would be impressive to the companies we interviewed with.

As I sat there listening to him, I thought…

“That’s GREAT advice! Learn all I can about the profession I was going into by subscribing to the leading magazine while only a sophomore. That way, by the time I graduate I will have a really good idea about what’s going on in the field.”

Again, that’s GREAT advice!

However, there was a problem.

I had NO desire to read that magazine.

NONE!

There was nothing about the world of Management Information Systems that would make me want to read a journal dedicated to it.

On the other hand…

In my book bag was a copy of a “Muscle and Fitness” magazine.

A magazine I LOVED!

A magazine that I would run to the local bookstore to purchase on the 17th of each month… the day the newest issue was put out on the rack.

This extreme difference in desire jarred me.

That is, I was made acutely aware that I had NO desire to read a MIS magazine… yet a HUGE desire to read Muscle and Fitness.

At that exact moment I KNEW I couldn’t pursue a career in Management Information Systems.

I HAD TO go after something related to health and fitness.

And I did.

Needless to say, there’s more to the story… more to how I got into Chiropractic.

But for now, just know that once I had clarity regarding the PURPOSE God had for my life, everything changed.

For the better.

------------

Needless to say, pursuing one’s purpose isn’t always easy.

But it is, without a doubt, always worth it.

The message is simple:

PURPOSE is powerful… and great for your health.

It’s also the topic of this week’s episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast.

10/17/2020

Most people have a hard time forgiving themselves.

That is, you make a mistake and, instead of learning and growing from it, you dwell on it.

You allow it to define you.

This is a HUGE mistake.

You see, we ALL make mistakes.

However, we don’t all respond to these mistakes the same.

Some people, after making a mistake, follow this formula:

1) They admit they made a mistake
2) They ask for forgiveness
3) They correct it (if they can)
4) They learn from it
5) They forgive THEMSELVES

People who follow those steps live happier, healthier and more productive lives than people who, after making a mistake, follow THIS formula:

1) They admit they made a mistake
2) They ask for forgiveness
3) They correct it (if they can)
4) They DON’T ALLLOW themselves to learn from it
5) They REFUSE to forgive themselves

Individuals who follow these steps tend to be stressed out, unhappy and unhealthy. Plus, they have a low level of self esteem and allow their mistakes to “define” who they are.

You don’t want to be that person.

Here’s the bottom line:

You are going to make mistakes.

Sometimes very big and costly ones.

When you do, you’ll have to decide:

"Do I want to make the situation worse…. or do I want to make the situation better?”

The answer is obvious:

You want to make the situation better.

The way to do that is simple:

FORGIVE YOURSELF.

Then, do your best to correct the situation.

Most importantly, LEARN from it.

Get this right and I PROMISE you’ll be better off.

As will those around you :)

I’ve been talking a lot lately about hormones… which makes sense since we’re in the middle of a series about hormones on the Get Healthy Alabama podcast :)

This past week the focus has been on the Thyroid.

Particularly we’ve discussed what to do when your levels of Thyroid hormones are low (Hypothyroidism).

Today I want to share with you one of the most overlooked causes of Hypothyroidism:

Adrenal Hormone Imbalance

However, before addressing Adrenal Hormone Imbalance, I want to ask you a question:

Do you remember hearing me say that there is no such thing as a single “hormone problem”… there is always a “hormonal SYSTEM problem?”

That is, like a band, if one hormone is “off” the whole band (hormonal system) is off.

Well, that’s exactly what happens when the Adrenal Gland hormones are “off.”

They don’t just affect themselves.

They, in my opinion, directly impact the Thyroid gland.

In fact, I think the reason why so many people have “Thyroid problems” - especially Hashimoto’s Disease (Hypothyroidism) - is that they have an underlying Adrenal hormone problem.

Which leads me to another question:

Guess what’s the topic of the next episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast… the one that will be available tomorrow (Wednesday)?

You got it: The Adrenal Gland.

Be sure to look for it bright and early tomorrow morning.

But first, if you haven’t already, go listen to this week’s episode on the Thyroid.

When you see a man or a woman who is clearly in good shape (lean, tone muscles, six-pack abs) it’s easy to assume that they’re healthy.

Not so fast.

Just because someone is PHYSICALLY fit, it doesn’t mean that he/she is healthy.

Don’t get me wrong… it certainly helps as physical fitness is one PART of being healthy.

It's just not the only part.

In my 30 years of being a Chiropractor I’ve been fortunate to work with many professional and Olympic athletes… all of whom were physically fit.

However, despite their "fitness" a few of them were not healthy… mainly because their diet was horrible and/or they were constantly under a lot of stress.

These individuals - men and women who received tons of praise for their physiques and their talents - would require several medications just to get them through the day.

Medications to help them sleep, medications to help with joint pain, medications for digestive disturbances, medications for anxiety or depression… the list goes on and on.

The bottom line is that these individuals were NOT healthy.

Again, they were physically fit… and that’s important. But they were not nearly as healthy as they could have, or should have, been.

Which, when you think about it, is both sad and ironic.

Sad because most of them were taught to equate physical fitness with health. This allowed them to be deceived into believing that they were healthy when, in reality, they weren’t.

Ironic because many of these great athletes - individuals society labels as “pictures of health” - turned to health destroying drugs in their attempt to achieve and maintain the “look” of optimal physical fitness.

In this week’s episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast, my guest Ron Mitchell discusses his journey from fitness to health.

Specifically, as an elite runner, Ron was always physically fit.

Yet, it wasn’t until he improved his diet that he truly became healthy.

Give this episode a good listen as you’ll pick up things YOU can do to improve your health.

Episode 32 is called “Reversing Disease: An Interview with Ron Mitchell” and it can be found on iTunes, Spotify or at the Get Healthy Alabama website or page.

“A healthy body doesn’t get sick.”

Sounds good, but it's not really true.

A healthy body CAN get sick.

However, it shouldn’t get sick very often AND it should recover quickly when it does.

So, what do I meant by “healthy”?

Someone who has a strong Immune System.

Someone who can easily deal with a “normal” cold and flu season.

Let me explain:

A person with a healthy Immune System probably won’t get the flu. However, if they DO, they will bounce back from it quickly.

On the other hand, a person with a weak Immune System is more likely to get the flu... and will usually require a longer amount of time to recover from it.

The message I'm trying to get across is simple:

You want to be healthy.

You want to have a strong Immune System.

It won’t guarantee that you’ll never get sick.

But it will dramatically lower the odds… AND it will help you recover if you do.

Fortunately, there are many things you can do to strengthen your Immune System.

Natural, God-given activities that are available to anyone.

Here's three:

Exercise
Sunshine
Sleep

Routinely getting the right amount of each of these can go a long way towards strengthening your Immune System and boosting your overall health.

They are also discussed in this week's episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast: "How To Prepare For The Worst Winter Ever"

You can hear it on iTunes, Spotify or the Get Healthy Alabama website (or page).

A very successful woman once told me that nothing bad had ever happened to her.

Needless to say, I was shocked.

Sensing my disbelief, she said “Let me repeat that. Nothing bad has ever happened TO me…

…but plenty of bad things have happened FOR me.”

I was still confused so I asked “What do you mean that nothing bad has ever happened TO you, but FOR you?”

“When bad things happen” she explained, “you have to make a choice. Am I going to be a victim or a victor?

“Am I going to let this defeat me and get me down… or am I going to learn and grow from this?

“I always choose to learn and grow.

“And, I’ve never once regretted it.

“In fact, some of my greatest successes have come from lessons that I learned while going through a bad time.

“THAT is why I say that bad things don’t happen TO me… they happen FOR me.”

Hmmm…. don't be a victim. Be a victor.

Choose to learn and grow from every "bad" experience.

Sounds like pretty good advice.

Just like that given on this week’s episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast.

07/06/2020

On the current episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast (episode 21) we talk about a ten day Gut Reset Protocol.

Specifically, we break it down to three parts:

Digestion
Elimination
Restoration

Today, I want to share with you something that I recently learned about the Elimination phase.

The focus of the Elimination phase is to rid the digestive system of parasites.

My supplements of choice for this phase are Wormwood and Zymex 2, from Standard Process.

Typically, I use a liquid form of the Wormwood as I actually enjoy the bitter, nasty taste.

(Don’t judge, lol)

However, recently I decided to use the Wormwood tablets… a product called Wormwood Complex.

As I went to take two tablets, I remembered that Wormwood Complex contains a few herbs along with Wormwood; specifically Clove, Black Walnut and Stemona root.

I am very familiar with Clove and Black Walnut but have to admit that I didn’t know anything about Stemona root.

So I did a little research and discovered that Stemona root has long been used in Chinese medicine to help with various lung diseases such as pneumonia and bronchitis.

That’s a really cool "bonus" to the Wormwood Complex as lung problems are prevalent right now.

It's also something that I wanted to pass along to you.

Also, in case you’re wondering, my patients prefer the Wormwood Complex tablets over the pure Wormwood in a liquid form.

I can’t say I don’t know why :)

Coronavirus protection: what you need to know.

Imagine you decide to become a boxer.

You hire a trainer and have six weeks to prepare for your first fight.

You assume that your training will be comprised of two parts:

1) Defense - learning how to avoid getting hit.
2) Offense - learning how to deliver strong punches.

Unfortunately, you assumed wrong.

It seems your trainer is overly concerned that, even though you are healthy and strong, getting punched could be catastrophic.

As a result, he focuses ALL of your training on trying not to get hit.

This makes no sense to you. Certainly, trying not to get hit is important, but you also must know how to "give" a punch.

However, every time you express your concerns, your trainer tells you to trust the process.

So you do.

After all, he’s been a trainer for many years… he must know what he’s doing.

The day of your fight arrives.

Your opponent isn’t at all intimidating, yet you fear him. More accurately, you fear being punched by him.

You get in the ring and for two rounds you dance and shuffle, doing your best to avoid getting hit.

However, in the third round something bad happens: your opponent lands a punch.

Not a terribly hard one, but a solid jab that hits you on the side of your head.

Most boxers would just shrug it off.

Not you.

Your greatest fear has become a reality:

You’ve been hit… and you crumble to the floor.

You’re knocked out.

NOT from some powerful punch.

But from a mild punch... one that connected with someone who was afraid and not properly prepared.

To add insult to injury, when you watch a replay of the fight, you realize that your opponent was not very tough and you would have easily won had your training focused on more than "avoid getting hit".

Had you been trained to “take a punch”… and to give one as well.

I share this story for one simple reason:

It’s how I feel about the Coronavirus.

We are the boxer and the Coronavirus is our opponent.

Our “trainer” - the medical experts and political authorities - are supplying us with suggestions and mandates to do all that we can to “avoid getting punched” by the Coronavirus.

I understand that.

But to have that as our ONLY strategy is foolish.

We need additional strategies… strategies that are proactive, not just defensive.

Strategies aimed at BUILDING up our Immune Systems so that we can “take a punch”.

Strategies that will allow us to fight back and defeat the Coronavirus.

Yet, we hear nothing about these type of strategies from the experts or media.

No suggestions to incorporate activities into our daily life that will BUILD and STRENGTHEN our Immune Systems… things like getting sunshine and fresh air, daily exercise, adequate amounts of sleep.

Nor are we given tips for managing stress, facts about the danger of sugar and other junk foods, and the importance of maintaining social (if not physical) contact with our family and friends.

My question is “Why?”

Why are we only given advice and mandates on how to AVOID exposure to the Coronavirus?

Why aren’t we also being given advice for strengthening our Immune Systems… you know, the system God placed inside of us to defeat unwanted viruses?

I don’t know the answers but I do know this:

The Coronavirus is NOT going away.

You ARE going to be exposed to it.

You ARE going to be “punched”.

But don’t let that scare you.

The Coronavirus does NOT pack that powerful of a punch and most people, after being exposed to it, won’t even “feel” it.

Others WILL feel the effects of it, but will fully recover in a few days.

And then there are, of course, those individuals with weak Immune Systems who ARE at high risk of being "knocked out" by the Coronavirus.

These are typically people over the age of 65 with Insulin Resistance related conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and/or kidney disease.

We should, of course, do all that we can to intelligently help them.

We can start by practicing good hygiene around them… just like we do during flu season.

More importantly, we should help them incorporate strategies that will STRENGTHEN their Immune Systems.

Specifically, we should help them improve their diets, get some exercise, interact with loved ones (even if it is digitally), manage stress and, if possible, get some sunshine and fresh air.

Here's the bottom line:

We are going to get through this pandemic.

NOT by mandating strategies that weaken those who are strong... but by promoting and implementing strategies to build up and strengthen EVERYONE’S Immune Systems.

Especially those who are at high risk :)
