CHAT- Community Health Action Team Since 2005, CHATs has been supporting collaborative efforts to create a healthier Sarasota County and region.

Community Health Action Teams (CHATs) are community led groups across Sarasota County that meet monthly to discuss health issues people are facing and find ways to address them. CHAT convenes grassroots teams & regional health leaders in health planning, and provides research & data tools to guide strategic efforts.

Whether you have a flourishing vegetable patch, a stunning flower bed, or a cozy container garden, we want to see your green thumb in action! This is your chance to showcase your garden’s beauty and win fantastic prizes.

πŸ“… Submission Period: March 13th - April 18th πŸ“· How to Participate:

Post your garden photo on Facebook and tag our SarasotaCountyCHATS page or, email your photo to srqchip4health@gmail.com. Include your name, the general area you live in (e.g. Venice, Osprey, Laurel, Nokomis), and a brief sentence explaining why gardening is important to you.

Beautification: Overall aesthetic appeal, organization, plant health, and color coordination.

Come learn how to build a healthy plate and become a MyPlate Superhero on Saturday April 27th from 9am-11am at the Department of Health in Sarasota (2200 Ringling Blvd).

We are offering the 8-week "Matter of Balance" fall prevention program throughout Sarasota County.

It's free to anyone over the age of 60 who is concerned about or afraid of falling.

Classes starting this month:
1. Nokomis Community Park (Tues, 1-3pm, 4/9-5/23)
2. Venice Community Center (Mon, 9-11am, 4/22-6/17)
3. Sarasota Memorial ER Center in North Port (Wed, 10a-Noon, 4/24-6/12)
