Job description



Looking for a Strong LEADER to be the DOCK MASTER at a proven successful Marina in the Sarasota- Bradenton area. This DM will possess the skills to command a team of up to 6 employees and 270 plus boats in and out of the water.

The salary PayScale will be discussed from $65-80k annually plus benefits and more!

Dock Master Job Duties

Oversee the scheduling, arrival, and departure of vessels to ensure efficient use of dock space and adherence to safety protocols.
Implement and enforce marina rules and regulations to maintain order and safety on the docks.
Coordinate with maintenance staff for the repair and upkeep of docks, marina facilities, and related equipment to ensure operational integrity and safety.
Manage the assignment of boat slips and storage spaces, considering the size, type, and requirements of each vessel.

Dock Master Job Requirements

: A Dock Master typically possesses a diverse educational background, with many having completed high school, while others have pursued further education in fields such as maritime studies, business management, or hospitality.
: Dock Masters often come into the role with diverse backgrounds, including those without prior experience. On-the-job training is a common pathway, allowing individuals to learn the ropes directly in the marina environment.
: Dock Master positions typically do not have specific certification or license requirements. However, certifications in CPR, First Aid, and sometimes a Boating Safety Certificate can be beneficial. In certain locations, a Coast Guard Captain’s License may be recommended or required, depending on the scope of duties and the size of the marina or dock facility being managed.
