Tonight Your Dancing Dietitian partnered with Forte Arts Center to kick off their 29th summer season with a Nutrition for Dancers studio seminar! I couldn’t think of a better way to start a new dance season! Huge props to these girls who just had 12 recital shows over the weekend and are already back in the studio ready to kick off their summer dance season. Love the dedication and commitment! 💃🏼🩰

Check out what some of the dancers had to say after the seminar was over.

"it actually made sense."
"I love that she was real with us."
"I've heard other people talk about stuff like this before, but I was never as interested."
"It made me feel comfortable."

This right here is why I absolutely love what I do for dancers. Nutrition is HARD! My goal is to be able to help dancers optimize their nutrition in realistic and relatable ways. These dancers were engaged, took notes the whole seminar, and asked some amazing questions! That sure does fill my heart ♥️

Backstory, Forte Arts Center is my home dance studio where I danced from the age of 2-18. This studio was my home away from home, and it was so great being back virtually 🍽🥣🌮🥗🍗🍑🧀

What an amazing morning it was talking to the students in the dance department at the University of South Florida about optimizing nutrition for dancers! I love being able to share my passion for nutrition with dancers, especially dancers and faculty from my alma mater!

Are you struggling to find your balance? As a dancer and athlete, do you feel like you have to cut out certain foods to feel or look a certain way?❌ Do you feel like you can’t indulge in those special treats or favorite snacks because you may think of them as “bad” foods? ❌
Truth is, balance is KEY! ☝🏻👏🏻 No, you do not have to cut out pasta🍜 No, you do not have to cut out bread🥪 No, you do not need to cut out cupcakes 🧁No, you do not need to cut out ice cream🍦 No, you do not need to cut out wine 🍷 I could go on and on! It’s all about finding that BALANCE! 🍩🌮🥑🥬🍳🧀
As dancers, I think we feel a lot of pressure to eat “perfectly”. I do believe that a lot of the stigma around the “ballet body” is changing, but there is still this thought that “You’re a dancer, you have to eat super healthy”. It is true, we do want to provide our bodies with healthy, well-balanced meals to fuel our dancing bodies, but we also need to train our minds and our bodies that a sweet treat here and there is okay too!
In my Top-Notch Dancer e-courses, I teach you EXACTLY how to properly fuel you bodies while being able to incorporate your favorite foods that you DON’T need to cut out! 📣 Give me a 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 if you want to be the first to find out about the Top-Notch Dancer e-courses when they launch! 🥳 You DON’T want to miss this!

Earlier in January I had the pleasure of doing one of my dance studio nutrition series via zoom for the dancers at the Ballet Experience hosted by 👏🏻
I had an AMAZING time talking to the dancers about the importance of nutrition and diving into Nutrition 101 for Dancers and Athletes! All the dancers were beyond eager to learn, took very detailed notes, and asked such important questions! It was a pleasure serving these dancers and Yorkville Performing Arts Center!

Did you know there are other sources of protein besides just animal protein? 🤷‍♀️ Protein is so important for dancers and athletes, especially with the constant use of muscles during rehearsals and performances. 💪🏼 Protein’s role is to replenish muscles when they are burnt out. Think about how often you use your muscles throughout the day. Probably close to all day, right?
Many people think that protein can only come from animal sources, however, there are a lot of GREAT options for those who are trying to incorporate more plant based protein sources. 🥜🥜
Tag a friend who eats some of those plant based protein sources! 🥳

Hey everyone! I'm Morgan Narvick DiMeo, the face behind Your Dancing Dietitian! I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Personal Trainer, and dance teacher. To give you a little excerpt from my life, I started dancing at the age of 3 and at that point, my parents couldn't keep me out of the dance studio!  💃🩰 I continued to dance until I graduated high school and went on to dance in college.🎓 I went to the University of South Florida where I graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Dance Performance with a ballet concentration! Since graduating from college with my dance degree, I went back to school to become a Registered Dietitian so I can help dancers like you fuel your bodies and learn how to optimize your nutrition to results in the best possible performance! 🍽💃
My goal is to bridge the gap between the dance and arts world and the nutrition world. Being emerged in the dance world now for 23 years, I’ve seen the lack of education around healthy lifestyles for dancers that DOESN’T involve restrictive eating, and I can’t wait to share my knowledge with you all! 💕
Love you my fellow dancers 🤩❣️🥰
